Dealt with review manipulation from a possible competitor - how do you handle this?
8 months into my Etsy shop (digital products, 2k sales, 350+ five star reviews).
Today a “buyer” left several low-star reviews across different listings within minutes of each other. The purchase was actually from 2 months ago, feedback just landed all at once today.
Same buyer has left 5-star reviews for a shop that’s very similar to mine, same niche. (I am watching this shop closely as it is almost an exact copy of my shop.)
I am not a confrontational person, so no reports or anything for copying. I am trying to get better and better and always believed there is room for everyone.
I didn’t mind so much the copying, but the deliberate bashing of my shop like this… it infuriates me.
How do you all deal with this kind of thing when you suspect it’s coming from a competitor rather than a genuine unhappy customer?
Is there anything beyond documenting and moving on, or is this just a cost of doing business on Etsy?
