my Paris (George V) bag offer walk in experience

Couldn’t be happier with my new bag - Constance 18 in Etoupe, Epsom leather, with palladium hardware 🤍

For context, I’ve probably entered the H lottery over 50 times over several Paris trips over the last couple years. I’ve never been fortunate enough to get a leather appointment. This trip, I figured I would enter the lottery all the same, but try my luck with “just asking” … I figured I truly have nothing to lose. I’ve asked at the leather front desks a few times, with the answer being ‘no’ every time.

I passed by George V - this time, the answer was also ‘no’ but I figured I’d still shop around because I am looking for a Twilly fringe. Luckily, I got my Twilly fringe and was happy to walk away. The SA asked me if there was anything at all I’m still interested in… this is when I asked on possibilities of a bag, specifically BKC. She said no, but that other bags may be possible like an Evelyne, Picotin, or Lindy. I was firm with my ask around a BKC as I already have a few of those other bags and was happy to walk away with no bag offer. She checked my France profile, and scanned my passport as well (presumably to check if I’ve been trying the lottery). She then went to the back room and came back 5 minutes with a box. My heart was racing… she opened the box to reveal the most beautiful, classic Constance 18 💕 I couldn’t be happier!!!

♥️♥️ My tips for everyone trying….

- Paris walk-in’s are a hit or miss. Most of this comes down to luck. You never know who you’ll connect with nor the availability that day. From what I’ve heard, the chances of BK on a walk in are difficult (not impossible), but your chances with other styles may be possible with some luck.
- Be kind. No need to be “overly nice” but don’t go in demanding anything. View anything you might get from a walk in as ‘upside’, and you won’t be disappointed!
- Be honest about what you want.
- It never hurts to just ask… yes, the anxiety from hearing a ‘no’ can be mortifying (I’m with you on that…). But truly, the worst they can say is no.
