I’m not the best at articulating my thoughts to make sense, but I’ll try anyway. I love how while Jax couldn’t let go of the past, refused to change, and let it eat away at him, Caine reflected on himself and his actions (Bubble acting as the “reflection” both literally and figuratively). He realized he was wrong. But Abel held him back. Abel was Caine’s past, so Caine let him go. Caine made the effort and was determined to make things right. It’s honestly something that makes me cry. I admire his determination. No matter the obstacle, he pushes through. If he fails to fly, he runs. If he reaches an edge, he makes his own stairway. If one of the shapes doesn’t work, he tries a new one. If there’s a wall in the way, he breaks it. He’s doing all he can to make it up to them. And he doesn’t expect forgiveness. He just wants to make things right. Jax and Caine parallel each other so much and I love it. They’re two of my top four characters, and for good reason. Both are interesting in their own ways and I adore them.
