Elgato Wave 3 keeps needing a replug when I switch to my Laptop/PC through my USB switch
I’m running a dual setup with a work laptop and a personal PC, and I use a USB switch so I can move my keyboard, mouse, and Elgato Wave 3 between both without unplugging everything.
The issue is that it does not work cleanly when I switch. On both my PC and my work laptop, the Wave 3 gets detected properly, but no voice input comes through.
On my PC side, the only way I can get it working again is by manually unplugging the USB cable at the back of the mic and plugging it back in.
On my work laptop side, I need to plug it into my USB dock first for it to work properly. After that, it starts detecting my voice again.
My current chain is:
Work laptop > dock > USB switch > Elgato Wave 3
PC > USB switch > Elgato Wave 3
What I’ve noticed:
- The mic shows up as detected on both machines.
- It still gives no input after switching.
- Replugging the USB cable at the mic fixes it every time on PC.
- Plugging it into the dock is needed on the work laptop side.
- So the mic itself works, but the switch seems to leave it in a bad state.
Has anyone found a fix for this with the Wave 3 and a USB switch?
