This abstract photograph was made in Death Valley, where salt crystals have formed a landscape that is very unique upon close investigation.

The Deception Pass area is famous for powerful currents, swirling waters, and enough drama to keep photographers coming back year after year. On this evening, however, the water was relatively calm while the setting sun painted a golden pathway across the bay. For a few minutes, it looked as though nature had thoughtfully installed a scenic walkway to the horizon. Yea, I relished every minute of this experience! (Salish Sea, WA)
