Lymphoma, at just 7 years old. We had a barbeque for him, and he ate all the meats he wanted and got all the pets from everyone who knew him and loved him, and he went to sleep in my husband's arms on our terrace. We laid him to rest on a mountain under a big tree, so he could have all the hikes while he waits for us. I'm devastated, and I'll never get another Cane Corso again, because it'll never be him. So dopey, so clumsy, so sweet, and so gentle.

These pants better outlive me, or so help me…

Still on the third project. Crotch is next. Definitely need to patch that.

DONE. Finally.

The other butt cheek needs reinforcement, too, along with a few other places, but I'll try some patterning on those instead of a block color. These will basically be Theseus' jeans by the end of it. My hands hurt. My eyes hurt. I'm taking a break.

It's coming along, slowly. Third darning project.

And the second project to inspire a sense of "why in the actual hell do I do these things to myself?" This is one area of thinning fabric. There is another, and the crotch. Why have none of you stopped me?

I know what I said...

But(t), you guys have been so wonderful and encouraging. I'ma do another one. Thinning fabric, holes starting to appear. I could try to learn to patch stuff, but I'm a glutton for punishment. See you all in a month or two.

I finished it!

There are several other, smaller places to repair, but that is for another day, after I buy more green floss. Also, it is hard to take photos of leg repairs while they are on one's own leg.

My husband has some jeans with holes in them. He agreed to let me play around. Working from a diagram, I tried darning these. It could have been worse. I'm not displeased, per se, but not entirely satisfied, either. I'm not so good at the whole, making even stitches bit, it seems. Learned a lot, though. Gonna try again on the next hole.
