Has anyone ever tried these zawaj centers ? How was the experience

Salamaleykoum guys,

I would like to get married and I know that it's difficult for everyone to meet the right person nowadays so I did a few research and I found a few matrimonial agencies who called themselves zawaj centers. A few examples are:

I would like know if anyone ever tried and how was the experience ? 😊

And out of curiosity do you remember how much did you pay ? I had a talk with a girl from one these agencies and she told me it was 800 euro (so around 8000 dirhams) for 6 month and 7 meeting (something like that, I don't remember exactly). I don't mind a bit more than local moroccans since I live in Europe but that's way to much for me 😅.

Anyway, I would appreciate to know what do you guys think. Barakallahoufikoum

I switched from Unity to Godot 2 years ago now. There is one thing I really miss

After more than 5 years with Unity, I decided to switch to Godot. I think overall Godot is a better engine. Probably the best one. However, one underrated thing about a game engine is the ecosystem. Assets, tutorials, forums, add-ons, blog posts, etc... play a huge role in whether or not you will be able to finish a game.

I made a video talking about this: https://youtu.be/l6HB2MzjkHU if you are curious to hear my whole POV.

Basically, one of the biggest strengths of Unity is the Asset Store. The engine itself is good, but it's not the best IMO. I remember back when I was using Unity, it took 10 seconds for shader compilation, C# building was long as well, the time to start the editor was also a bit long, the link between assets and code was very tight, making the code not very easy to unit test, the engine took between 5 to 10GB on my computer, and each project could also take up to 10GB depending on the assets you downloaded...

Anyway, I tried Godot just out of curiosity and it blew my mind. Instant launch, only 200MB of download for the engine, fast compilation, open-source, growing ecosystem, very code-oriented, signals were a very clean way to manage events, etc... So I've stuck with Godot for 2 years now. I made 1 game and I will soon release another one by the end of the year, but I think after that, I will make my next game with Unity.

Since I switched to Godot, I've never found myself spending so much time browsing assets... It consumes so much time... Sketchfab, Itch.io, Fab, etc... and most of the time, I have to download assets one by one. Can you imagine spending days just to find a nice hospital asset pack? Well, I couldn't before having to do it for my current horror game set in a hospital.

Even when it comes to the quality of add-ons, Unity and Godot are definitely not the same. I will agree that in Unity, the best assets are paid ones. But come on, with Black Friday and Humble Bundle you can easily get 30 premium assets for 30 bucks and have them for life. On the other hand, tools made for Godot that reach the same level of quality are less common. You have Dialogic, Phantom Camera, etc... but that's not a lot... and not worth it.

Anyway, I detailed a lot of stuff in my video (https://youtu.be/l6HB2MzjkHU) if you are curious to know more.

Just to clarify my point of view (purely personal ofc, not everyone has to agree):

- Is Unity a better engine than Godot? The editor/engine itself, no. The ecosystem around it, yes

- Should you consider trying Godot? Definitely YES. You will learn a lot of patterns that will help you structure future games if you use Unity, and a lot of tricks. I think Godot is the best place to start.

- it easier to finish a game using Unity? If you are okay with spending a few bucks on premium assets, I think YES.

Hello,

Since January, I am making my own horror game. I have progressed. I really like where I am now. You can find a sample of what I did two months ago. Right now it is even better.

The thing is, that I am a bit unmotivated by this horror game... I haven't touched a lot since one month (also had a lot of things more important in my life that did not make it easier since their was some priorities... yeah adulting is hard.. lol)

I was wondering if working on a second game either in parallel or as break for a month would be a good idea ? Have some of you worked on two different projects at the same time ? Or did a break by making a small project of one month ?

If so, I would appreciate some advice, tips, and stories please. I wanted to release it for next halloween, but I am ok to work on it one more year to polish it since I think it has potential
