Testing antenna....will this help me - even a little?

I currently have 3 antenna options, 2 on the car roof, one hand held. If I was to call and connect with someone through a repeater would they be able to tell me which one was the best signal? Would this even just put me in the ball park? I'm thinking that the distance would help narrow it done as opposed to a radio down the street.

Thanks

Antenna, Antenna, Antenna - (GRMS, CB, Cell Phone)

I have a Nagoya UT-72G Super Loading Coil 19-Inch Magnetic Mount (Heavy Duty) GMRS (462MHz) Antenna PL-259 in the middle of the roof of my Subaru, in the middle of a Thule 859XT Canyon XT Basket. Wondering if the basket will interfere.
Next, where would I stick a magnetic mount CB antenna in all of this? Could have both receiving at the same time but not transmitting at the same time.
There is the car's shark fin at the back.
At some point I may bolt on a GMRS to the side of the rack that can fold back, but not anytime soon.
Lastly I have an old 4G cell phone antenna booster that isn't made anymore. And if I put that (or an updated version) up, where would that go?

TIA

VOX, Chest/shoulder rig, microphone - HA1G

  1. can't get VOX to work; yes it's turned on & I've tried various sensitivity settings; I can only get it to work if I tap the mic, not w/ voice
  2. Can anyone recommend a chest or shoulder holder that is small enough for the body but big enough for a winter coat. Also male / female users?
  3. how well does the microphone work? in theory will it also use VOX?
    TIA

need right screwdriver (? power) for these screws

several screws on the back of walkie-talkie, that are designed to hold it in place to keep it waterproof. I can't budge them by hand with a fair amount of force - but careful not to strip them. it has to come apart to replace the battery when it wears out. is there some sort of electric driver that is designed for this sort of problem? TIA

just got 2 RB48Plus; frustrated - I think I need a different radio. recs?

I find the Retevis site difficult; on the page description for the RB48P there was no mention that the programming software (which I assume I need to us a repeater - yes?) was only good for windows. I have a Mac.

So having to start over; GMRS, (other bands ok) does not have to be Retevis; I really like the sturdiness of this model and need something similar drop resistant, etc; and it's easy to use but no repeater. Any recs will be appreciated,
