How are resorts dealing with the slow start?

Just wondering if anyone has intel on how resorts like Falls and Buller are handling this. Are they panicking and buying snow guns, or are they coming up with deals, or trying to survive?

I’ve seen some pretty crazy propaganda on their instas.

Also is the phrase slow start accurate ? Say, if we’re going in early September, will the snow be the same as an average season in September, as the phrase only implies irregularity in the timing of the early months of the season. Obviously you can’t be certain with predictions- just wondering if people using the phrase slow start tend to mean only the start is affected.

Snow Base required for Snowboarding

I’ve heard a little about base damage from hitting rocks and the like. What snow depth do you reckon is needed to safely avoid this, and how can I actually check it?

Thinking about whether or not to bring my brand new board or rent this season.

TaoBao for shorts

Has anyone tried getting Muay Thai shorts off Taobao? I’ve just learnt of this thing called Tmall which ideally should more strongly guarantee against fakes (they have to pay a bond deposit or smth I’m not sure) and the prices are like buying off wholesale sites like Nakmuay (50-60 AUD for fairtex) with 15AUD shipping but more stock.

But also I’m hesitant as I don’t really know Taobao and it not being Thai and also seeming a bit more unregulated I’m not sure- so anyone have any experience here?

Sizing Muay Thai shorts as a long and skinny

I’ve always heard that long and skinny is a good build for muay thai- but when looking for muay thai shorts it seems like all the brands that I could get for cheap (Venum, Anthem) make shorts that wouldn’t fit me.

I’m a 28 inch waist and 64 cm in thigh length, and 28 inch waists are usually XS or S or M and the lengths seem a bit short.

Does anyone have any advice? Is the sizing fine? Are specific brands better? Thanks!

Buller to Falls Creek or Melbourne to Falls Creek

Hello! Essentially I will be at Mt Buller and need to get to Falls Creek on the 10th. Either I can go home to Melbourne and then get to Falls, all in one day, or I can go straight from Buller to Falls.

Of course the problem is how, and I was wondering if you guys had any advice? I don't have a car but I am willing to pay. I can arrange Buller to Melbourne by myself easily enough, but the problem is finding transport from Melbourne to Falls departing in the afternoon, or finding transport straight from Buller to Falls which could be quite a rare situation.

I've heard of Facebook Groups- but I'm not sure which ones. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Question about the Blade of Tyshalle (Acts of Caine)

Halfway through it and I’m really enjoying it- was wondering about something that feels like a gap in my memory.

I recall Dellian standing at the Treetopper’s funeral and trying to stay unnoticed, then suddenly he’s in The Pit and AlienGames is burned down? What happened to cause those two events?

I’m listening to the Audiobook so it’s kinda hard for me to figure it out. I may also have miswritten a few names I’ve never read before, only heard.
Thanks!

Books like Heroes Die (Acts of Caine)

Recently read Heroes Die and I absolutely love the book and l really liked it! Looking for something to scratch that itch.

Things I liked and would like to see:
- This sort of Hunger Games/Dungeon Crawler Carl stick it to the man-who-uses-us-as-entertainment vibe and anger.
- The crazy Darrow-like strategic schemes that somehow work.
- The fast-pacing and fantasy and combat elements.
- The ‘dark’ vibe- but specifically the kind of dark that’s in a way more ‘realistic’ due to being less tropey and predictable, but not in the drawn-out torture way (Suneater).

Thanks!

Knucklebone Trick Tutorials?

I just got my first knucklebone, and I’m so in love with it! I’ve learnt the Aroundsquare tutorials, and am hungry for more!

On the Aroundsquare website and in Reddit threads I keep hearing about the ‘pros’ and the ‘skilled’ users but I haven’t been able to find the tricks that can bring you up there. Is this the limit to tricks in Kboning, or is there more I’m missing?

Thanks !

So stoked to have gotten my Beech knucklebone today. Just wondering about some of the goodies- Does anyone know what the sticker says and what is the bead for? Thanks!

I’d like something that fulfills:

directional twin shape
medium flex
camber or hybrid camber
intermediate - advanced board
all mountain and freestyle (specifically not really boxes or rails but rather jumps and 360s, 180s and the like)

my budget is around $900AUD but I’d really prefer something around $700AUD.

I’m looking at the Ride Shadowban 2027 right now cus it’s on sale for $800AUD or so.
