SoftWeek - The Flexible Homeschool Planner

Everyone homeschools differently, some folks are structured and plan everything, others kind of go with the flow, plan with the day and change plans quickly. A quick question for the group, what kind of homeschooler are you?

If your the kind that has to change things quickly, move stuff day to day, or plan your days around work and life you might check out SoftWeek. Its completely free and still in beta testing, but its made to move with you, go as you plan, and be versatile and unobtrusive.

Drop what kind of homeschooler you are below and if you want to give SoftWeek a go check it out at the link.

I built a simple homeschool planner and could use some honest feedback

I’ve been working on a worksheet app, and while I was building that I kept running into the same idea.

A lot of homeschool planning seems like it looks good on paper, but real life does not always follow the paper.

Some days take longer than planned. Some things get moved. Some weeks just change.

So I started building a small planner called SoftWeek.

It’s meant to be a simple way to lay out the week, add plans, move things around, and keep track of what actually got done without the whole week feeling messed up just because plans changed.

I’ve added quite a bit to it recently, and it feels a lot more usable than the first rough version. It has local accounts for beta testing right now, and I’m working on moving it to Supabase soon so saved data and accounts are handled better long term.

It’s still early, but I’d really like to get more homeschool families to try it and tell me what works, what does not, and what would actually be useful.

It’s free right now.

https://www.softweekplanner.com

I’m not looking for hype or fake positive feedback. I’d rather know what needs fixed while I’m still building it.

Softweek Planner

Hey everyone, I’m still working on SoftWeek Planner and I’m trying to get more homeschool families to test it before the fuller beta launch.

I started building it because I kept noticing the same problem with a lot of planners. They’re great when the week goes exactly as planned, but homeschool life usually doesn’t work that way. Plans move. Kids need more time. One activity might happen on several different days. Sometimes Sunday is a field trip. Sometimes the grocery store, baking, counting money, outside time, or a random rabbit trail ends up being the real learning for the day.

I’m trying to build SoftWeek around that kind of week instead of forcing everything into a rigid school-style schedule.

The newest version has a full 7-day week, so families can plan Monday through Sunday. You can add your own children, put one activity on multiple days, move things around, mark what happened, save the week, start fresh, plan ahead to the next week, and add your own categories like spelling, typing, history, social studies, life skills, or whatever fits your homeschool.

It is still being worked on, and right now it saves in your browser while I test the flow. The goal is to move toward a full account-backed version with saved records, child profiles, planning ahead, printable weekly records, and a genuinely useful free version.

I’m not looking for perfect reviews. I really want to know what feels useful, what feels confusing, what feels too busy, and what would make you actually want to use it again the next week.

If you homeschool and have a few minutes, I’d really appreciate you trying it and sharing it with another homeschool parent who might have feedback.

Schooling Planner

Hey everyone, I’m still looking for a few homeschool families to try SoftWeek Planner and tell me what feels useful or what needs changed.

I built it because I kept thinking about how most planners make sense when the week goes exactly as planned, but homeschool does not always work like that. Some days get moved around. Kids need more time. One activity might happen three different days. Sometimes the best learning is not what was written down first.

SoftWeek Planner is meant to be a softer weekly planner for that kind of real-life homeschool week.

Right now you can add your children, add plans to one day or multiple days, move things around, mark what happened, save the week, and start fresh again. It is still early and saves in your browser for now while I test the flow.

I’m not looking for perfect reviews. I’d rather know what feels confusing, what feels helpful, and what would make you actually want to use it again next week.

Homeschool Planner App

Hey everyone, I’m still working on SoftWeek Planner and I’d love some honest feedback from homeschool families.

I’m trying to make it solve the stuff that normal planners don’t always handle well. Real homeschool weeks change, things get moved around, some activities happen more than once, kids move at different speeds, and sometimes you just need a simple way to look back at what actually happened without feeling like you got behind.

The updated version lets you add your own children, add a plan to one day or multiple days, move things around, mark things done or skipped, save the week, and start fresh again.

It’s still early and right now it saves in your browser while I test the flow. I’m not trying to sell anything, I’m just trying to see if this actually feels useful for homeschool families before I keep building more into it.

If you have a few minutes to try it and tell me what feels useful, confusing, or missing, I’d really appreciate it.

Feedback on planner tool

I’ve been working on a small web app called SoftWeek Planner and I’m trying to get some outside eyes on it before I build it too far in one direction.

It’s a homeschool planner, but the main thing I’m testing right now is the flow. The idea is that parents can add loose plans for the week, move things around when life changes, add the same activity to more than one day, save the week, and keep it from feeling like another rigid planning tool.

It’s still early and saving locally in the browser for now, so I’m not trying to pitch it like a finished SaaS. I’m more looking for feedback on whether the app feels clear, if the planner makes sense, and if anything feels clunky or confusing.

If anyone has a few minutes to click around and give me honest feedback, I’d appreciate it.

Homeschool planner

Hi, I'm currently working on a planner tool trying to solve a lot of the problems ive seen a lot of you folks talk about with current planner and organization systems. Its currently in very early alpha phase but im putting it out there for actual homeschoolers to look at and give their honest opinions on. I truly want to create something to make the life of homeschooling families easier. If your interested at all in checking it out and giving any opinions, criticism, or comments about it your more than welcome! https://homeschool-planner-nine.vercel.app/

I’ve been trying to cut down the time it takes to make editing worksheets, so I ended up building a small tool for it and wanted to see if this is actually useful outside my own use.

Basically you paste a passage (or upload a PDF) and it turns it into an editing worksheet with realistic mistakes and an answer key. You can tweak grade level, how many errors, and what type (grammar, punctuation, etc.). I’ve mostly been using it for quick bell work and daily practice stuff.

It’s still pretty simple and I’m tweaking it as I go, so I’m more interested in whether this would actually be helpful in a classroom than anything else. If anyone wants to try it or has ideas on what would make it better for students, I’d appreciate the feedback.
