Air magic is a spell school that's kind of unwieldly to completely useless at higher levels. Risking hurting yourself or possible summons with Chain Lightning or OoE is oftentimes unacceptable for squishier characters.

A really easy fix would be to add call down lightning as a level 7 or 8 pure Air or Air/conj as a 3x3 upgrade to airstrike. Because the theme for spells often involves a gimmick this couldn't be casted at melee range without giving you considerable arcing damage.

It's similar to stone arrow -> bombard, a direct upgrade with a perfect amount of added complexity.

I'm noticing I'm having much more success in early game to extended by going unarmed and pumping STR as high as possible than I ever have with weapons. Unarmed is completely predictable, deals very high damage, can be jacked up much higher with forms - it's more versatile.

Thoughts?

I'm rapidly approaching 14 runes on a DsFi of Yred. The Hell branches I can get through without much difficulty with Mnoleg backing me up but I struggle to beat Tomb on a high STR (66 0.5 with 20% antimagic/weakness) melee brute. Unbuffed I have 8 INT but I have multiple INT rings.

Should I switch god for Tomb or pivot into Hexes to take advantage of the enhanced Hex mutation or go with a different strategy? Should I get death form online? I currently have 36 16 40 and Armour, Fighting, Unarmed are maxed. I have no spells currently.

I currently have Mnoleg as a bound soul and completed all of hell, pan, slime, crypt, zot. I'd wind up on Abyss:6 at the highest and I'm low on health potions. I also have to complete tomb.

Advice?

Edit : Got the abyss rune in legit 100 turns upon going to the abyss, only Tomb remains

Good build to learn to appreciate some of the strengths of Naga. There are two demon whips one in the trove and one on Lair:2 as well. Alchemy spells are sparsely populated until Vault, however.

Got 6 skill masteries in pan and 11 runes before my computer glitched and I typed in a million left moves and got pelted with damnation. Easiest seed I've played in years.

Weird politics do not belong in this game. We need somebody that can keep their account online instead of selfishly jeopardizing the community by pointlessly breaking reddit rules. What keeps happening with the original is ridiculous and I believe the community deserves better.

I feel like he's gotten so easy over the last couple updates to where I just pound him into the ground when he's one of the most lethal enemies in the game historically.

A couple weeks ago I was getting into extended on a daily basis with different characters. I was getting 7-10 runes without any real struggle (not using seeds either). Now lately I can't even get 2 runes on an "easy" build with a yoked seed. Does anyone else get like this after playing too much?

Anyone else agree? It has all the cutting edge support of the Aur and the installation was incredibly straightforward. My journey was from mint to debian to ubuntu to endeavor and endeavor might have been the best experience I've had

If you search air on ctrl F you get dozens of stairs. Is there a better way to search for them?

1. Take Yred and get invocations as high as possible.

2. Enslave Miloglotl.

3. Completely destroy every single level

I'm not sure if it's a bug or not but when you enslave Miloglotl they (she/it/???!) will often spam corrupt every single turn. This tears apart every level you go into and spam summons dozens of powerful neutrals. The game turns into escorting Miloglotl around while they handle every enemy into the end game. Asides from durability this may be the best possible bound soul due to you getting an unlimited number of high level god abilities.

Troll is really not very good at all in the mid game on. There are chance based conditions but the species generally sucks and the aptitudes make it hard and annoying to play. Demonspawn can be utterly broken and when you get a full claws stacks the species is **far** superior to trolls in every single way.

There is not a single thing trolls can do better than Ds with claws. Trolls are worse than Naga in the late game and IMO a complete pain in the ass and "simple" should not be used as a way of saying it's the most chopped species in the game.

If you tell a new player to play TrBe because they're easy they're going to grow to hate the game because of how hard it is past the early game due to a slight possibility they're getting armor. There's only one way to play troll too and that's to charge in unarmored which is always wrong.

Here's my idea : Bring back Death Knight and put DsDK as a simple role. Ds^Yred is busted simple and straightforward and throwing players into the beginner role with backup and damnation is plainly superior than tossing them in as a glassy giant with a severe learning disability.

You can make a guide for a melee Ds,

Train fighting (asterix), train weapon/claws(asterix) train invo(+) and you enter simple difficulty with Yred. No complex skill arrangement required! Works into post S

This is one of the biggest killers I get. It's a good habit to assume a monster will hit a perfect roll because it happens more often than you think

Decided to take a break from Chei for a while. Currently in extended with enslaved Glorxx Vloq and a yoked black mark HP regen full STR Ds.

Demonspawn Melee mutations synergize amazingly with yred. You can charge straight into combat and if the heat gets too high you have an army of undead waiting to save you. The innate heal on kill mutation helps you create an on demand angry mob and the abilities are incredibly helpful in Pan and Hell. Tiamet is an excellent bound soul but Glorxx Vloq gives you a ring of allied executioners following you around. Throw torch hits harder than even damnation and combined with the last ability takes down unique pan lords and their whole party extremely quickly too.
