Do I need a DAC/AMP along with the DT 700 Pro X?

Im thinking of upgrading from my old Logitech G Pro X (gen 1) headphones. Initially I wanted to upgrade to something wireless from a gaming brand (Logitech, Razer, Steel Series, etc.) but I eventually ended up realizing that wasnt the right move after a bit of research. I've found that the DT 700 Pro X meets most my requirements (besides being wireless) plus has very good feedback on audio quality.

My concern now is that I have noticed many people seem to pair their headphones with seperate DAC/AMPs for their setups. I know nothing about them and was wondering if it more of a want for audiophiles specifically (which im not) than a need for everyone who buy these headphones?

If I do need to buy an additional DAC/AMP, what are some good budget options (assuming budget doesnt mean it affects sound quality)

Headphone Upgrade Suggestions from Logitech G Pro X v1?

As the title suggests, im looking to upgrade from my Logitech G Pro X (wired) that recently decided to disintegrate on top of my head after 5 years of service. I went down the IEM and studio headphones (Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, etc.) rabbit hole for the past couple days and narrowed down the things im looking for in headphones:

  1. Dont need a microphone because I have a stand alone Quadcast 2 S microphone.

  2. Prefer headphones with good imaging since I'll be mostly using them for competitive gaming (cs2 mostly) with a hint of music and movies occasionally (though not primarily).

  3. I prefer closed back due to the environment I play in (family chatter in the background) however I have read that will hinder the imaging since apparently open back is preferred. (I could be wrong I learned most this stuff in the past few days)

  4. Wireless is highly preferred and battery life shouldnt be an issue since i only play maximum of 4 hours a day after work. I could settle for wired but I really prefer not to.

  5. Comfort for long sessions. With my current headset, my ears get sore after just a couple hours of gaming and they leave a huge dent on my skull so I'm looking for something relatively more comfortable.

  6. Under 270 USD ideally

Some options I'm considering:

Sony INZONE H9 II (props to u/Scarabesque for the suggestion)

Arctis Nova 7 Wireless Gen 2

HyperX Cloud III S

Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed

Beyerdynamic Dt 700 Pro X

Beyerdynamic Dt 770 Pro X

Beyerdynamic Dt 990 Pro (or Pro X) (open back)

Sennheiser Momentum 4 (no 2.4 GHz dongle)

Any feedback about these choices would be great if any of you have or still do own them. Open to other suggestions/recommendations too :)

Wireless Headphone Suggestions for Competitive Gaming

As the title suggests, im looking to upgrade from my Logitech G Pro X wired that recently decided to disintegrate on top of my head after 5 years of service. I went down the IEM and studio headphones (Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, etc.) rabbit hole for the past 3 days and narrowed down the things im looking for in headphones:

  1. Dont need a microphone because I have a stand alone Quadcast 2 S microphone.

  2. Prefer headphones with good imaging since I'll be mostly using them for competitive gaming (cs2, r6, etc.) with a hint of music and movies occasionally.

  3. I prefer closed back due to the environment I play in (family and stuff in the background) however I have read that will hinder the imaging since apparently open back is preferred

  4. Wireless is a must with good enough battery life fit for an average of 4 hours of gameplay a day (corporate slavery wont allow for more). I am open to wired if it meets all my requirements and is unavoidable without breaking the bank.

  5. Comfort for long sessions. With my current headset, my ear lobes get sore after just a couple hours of gaming and they leave a huge dent on my skull so I'd rather not have that if possible.

  6. Under 270 USD (please)

  7. Open to IEMs but not preferred

Some headphones I've considered:

Sennheiser Momentum 4

Beyerdynamic Dt 700 Pro X

Beyerdynamic Dt 990 Pro (or Pro X)

Arctis Nova 7 Wireless Gen 2

HyperX Cloud III S

Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed

I am not in a rush to get an upgrade either since I can probably squeeze a few more years out of my current headset with some tapr. So if you guys think I should just hold out and save up to afford a more expensive option I would be open to that as well. Just needed input from someone else since I'm somewhat overwhelmed by the choices I have.
