Multi-generational family dramas!

I LOVE a deep, multi-generational family drama. Please recommend me some more! I'm open to all settings and time periods.

Examples that I've read recently:

East of Eden by John Steinbeck

The Bee Sting by Paul Murray

Pachinko by Min Jin Lee

The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher

The Family Izquierdo by Ruben Degollado

I am not a big fan of romance/"spicy" books.

Thank you!!

Sand and ramshorn snails?

I've been eyeballing the African dwarf frogs at a store near me for a while now, but my 26 gallon tank has a dirt and sand bottom and I also have ramshorn snails that I can't get rid of. Does that make my habitat unsuitable for frogs? I've been looking for a centerpiece with personality for a long time, as it is right now I just have tetras. Thanks!

How to hide knots better? (beginner)

Exploring this sub has blown me away!! I just started and am learning so much. I have tried burning the knots with a lighter (pictured) but I feel like they are still really visible and if I trim them too short they fall apart. How can I hide them?

PS Is burning waxed polyester thread bad for you? Lol

Thanks!

I am a geography teacher teaching "A Long Walk to Water" and I'd like to discuss the role of the Scramble for Africa in exacerbating the conflicts between these groups. Thanks!
