[Online][DND 5e 2024][CET] A DM in the making worried about finding the right players to make it all the way with.

Hello everyone.
I've come here rarely and am no reddit expert by even the faintest stretch of any imagination.

TL;DR:
I will DM a bigger campaign in the future and am asking for advice on how to find the perfect players.

I am a player at heart that loves DND, so much so that playing once every 1-2 weeks isn't enough anymore.
I've spend some free hours the last two or three months when overly motivated on just working out my own campaign.
Don't worry I have ran two full campaigns before, both starting as book campaigns that then were heavily added to or continued after the official book concluded.
This time my idea was not to make a whole world and do a million things.

I love tropes. I think tropes arent always bad and I would love to run a campaign that tries to capture a lot of DnD tropes people might've not seen before or haven't had enough off from Goblins to Dragons and Cults and Supermarket Simulators, whatever their hearts desire.

I have started to think of initial plot hooks, picked a Faerûn location so its just playing in the regular 5e Forgotten Realms world to maybe even have more tropes met with seeing known cities or NPCs down the line. I figured out a start, started writing up NPCs quests and even started preparing it all in FoundryVTT. I've always loved preparing DnD and been buying maps from mapmakers on patreon that I will probably never get to used but the 200GB of images on my harddrive finally need a usecase haha.

God excuse my rambling I just really love DnD and would love like minded players that pour effort into their characters, knowing I'd do my best to make their characters and backstory matter and feel fun to play, that are dependable like myself, we all know scheduling is the reaper of having a good time in this hobby. People who I can get along with even out of the game and dont just meet up and dont talk to before or after any given session. People dont have to become besties but becoming friends should be something to aspire to!

I come before the big council here asking if anyone has genuine advice, that is helpful and applicable on how to find people. I know finding people is easy as we all (im a player too!) love playing but there isnt enough DMs to go around! but I dont want just anyone. I want people who all get along and maybe the way to go is finding a long standing DnD enthusiastic friendgroup and DM for them or something, I am really lost on how to approach this as I hopefully just want to start playing once I am prepared far enough ahead of time and dont have to cancel a group and restart, replaying parts of my campaign again.. That might take the joy out of it and putting in weeks and months of work to throw away would be a shame too even if it was fun to make regardless.

Any advice is welcome seriously! I want to find people very much in love with the game as much as myself.

I hope I wasted no ones time, if I get any replies I might alter the post because right now I look at this wall of text and its genuinely just yapping for 10mins and hoping the response is more productive than my post.. Unlikely but lets hope!

[Online][DND 5e 2014/2024][CET] A sad last ditch effort before probably burning out and quitting the hobby

Hello to whoever even made it this far.

Skip to the TL;DR to get past the ramble if you want, but I wanted to be upfront.

I am sorry for the dire title, but it perfectly captures how this hobby has been for me lately. I love D&D. I’ve played for 5-6 years now, even ran two campaigns myself (mostly because I couldn't find a DM for my friends), and when it works, it's great. I look forward to it every week. I’m a dedicated player. I write lots of notes, put a ton of effort into my backstories, and do my best to make sure everyone at the table is having a good time.

But I am incredibly burned out. We all know scheduling is a massive issue, but interpersonal drama is just as bad. Sadly they're both very common reasons for groups to go their separate ways and I am just tired of making new characters and playing with new people all the time just because people cannot figure out their schedule or their differences. I make such an effort with my own character but also being accommodating with the other players but sadly it usually just doesn't last...

Sadly this back and forth of finding new groups and getting to know new people and breaking apart before even getting familiar, just isn't a loop I want to take part in much longer.
It's my by far favourite hobby but I just cant take that forever and will rather step away from the hobby entirely if I just can't find my forever people.

TL;DR & What I am looking for:

I'm looking for a stable group I can play with weekly or bi-weekly. Since I'm in CET and working/in school as a software dev, weekdays are tough because of the commute. Weekends are ideal for me (Friday evenings, Saturdays, or Sundays). I only play 5e (2014 or 2024 rules are fine), and I don't mind if it's an official module or a homebrew world.

Gameplay-wise, I prefer roleplay and exploration over combat. Combat is obviously important and happens, but RP is just more engaging for me. I like a serious tone, I definitely make lots of jokes, but I try to time them right so it doesn't turn a serious moment into a goofy mess. I prefer Foundry VTT, but I'm open to whatever you use.

A bit about me: I'm 28, German, and highly reliable (I mean I am German so obviously). I always keep game days free and only miss sessions for actual emergencies. Character-wise, I tend to gravitate toward clerics or religion-adjacent characters because I'm fascinated by belief in a world with direct divine intervention. That said, I can have fun with any class and will happily fill whatever role the party needs.

Random extra info: I have a decent setup, a good internet connection, and hopefully a pleasant deep voice for RP! Also, I am practically a goliath in real life at 203cm (6'8), but I'd love to play someone regular-sized and roleplay as what I am not like everybody else haha

As a small side note, I am currently working on a campaign for fun in my free time as I don't have any groups to play in but such a big desire to do anything DnD that's where my efforts currently go, I can't guarantee anything and am currently just seeking a group as a player but if one day I am far enough along with this, where it does not constantly stress me out if I have enough things prepared, I'd be willing to also run a game for the rest if that was even something, anybody would be interested in.

If you're looking for a passionate player and think I'd be a good fit, please reach out. Ask me any questions if I missed something!
