New show “elle” is in my opinion as an avid show/movie critic was at best… lazy and almost woke?
I’m not sure if any of you have seen it yet. It was a good show going in have not watched any of the legally blonde movies. So I finished the show and watched the movies, let me just say it made the show feel lazy and almost like a push to just get money or maybe the image that the director understands wokeism? The whole show is basically just how elle really isn’t an LA girl at heart even though her whole life has been there. She falls in love with Seattle after being called a poser (called that the minute she bought a nirvana tee). Anyway, it ends abruptly with her in Seattle getting approval by the people she had pissed off and it really made her look like a progressive animal loving “woke” teen. Then I watch the source material ( the movies) and it’s like they just completely missed the point. They had a character already made and picked out and were just like “oh, let’s undo absolutely everything we know about this character and her dad who was also completely different just to appeal to a different demographic and a lame attempt at showing that the director understands liberalism. To me it just seems like the show was absolutely pointless and didn’t do anything but pull on one or two nostalgia strings and just wrote a whole new character then had the balls to call it a prequel… idk how do yall feel about it? I know it’s not some crazy good show but just an opinion I had and felt the need to talk about as I finished it all today.
