LHSC Supervisor bills province $761,000 in 2025

David Musyj, the provincially appointed LHSC supervisor - who is not an employee, but was interim CEO since the Board was let go in 2024 over the financial scandal - is defending himself for billing Ontarians $761,000... "because supervising LHSC is not a 5-day-a-week job". Even if he worked 6 days a week for the entire year, he'd be conservatively billing $275/h.

Supervision is an ethics role. To correct, guide, and to monitor with integrity requires balancing a responsibility to protect (in this case, the public) with a commitment to being fair and critical. To *not* see how charging $761k - after getting the job precisely because of a financial scandal, and to especially do so in the face of thousands of nurses who are paid far less while being fired in droves - is unethical.

This is nuts to me.

Edit: To clarify, this is the individual who was brought in to replace Jackie Schelifer Taylor, the disgraced former CEO. David is the former CEO of Windsor Regional Hospital.

Best place to get glasses who accept ODSP?

I’m looking to see if anyone has any recommendations to places that offer a WIDE range of frame styles who accept ODSP. I am on ODSP because of my vision so this is a non negotiable. The optometrist I see down the street has THREE frames covered by ODSP and are god awful looking. Something a 80 year old woman would wear. I don’t mind paying 100-150 ish out of pocket if I have to. Does anyone know a really decent frame place? Thanks in advance!

Dentist recommendations in London, Ontario — ethical / conservative approach?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for dentist recommendations in London. I’m especially hoping to find someone who is ethical, transparent, and conservative with treatment planning — someone who explains options clearly and doesn’t pressure patients into unnecessary procedures.

I’d really appreciate recommendations based on personal experience, especially dentists who are good with prevention, second opinions, and giving honest estimates before treatment.

Also open to hearing who to avoid, but please keep it respectful.

Thanks!

parking near tmc hyde park that’s free?

Paying 5 dollars for parking for a 10 minute appointment is kinda gross to me… especially with these gas prices lol

Anyone go here and have a street or area they recommend to park that is less than 5 minutes away walking?

By-Law Question

I had a note left from the City of London Bi-Law yesterday afternoon. It was regarding our dogs, and them not being licensed. We somewhat recently moved to London and honestly forgot to do it. My question is would they have just come out on their own, or would someone have had to call it in? Our dogs aren’t loud, they are small chihuahuas and are never left outride to make noise. I’d hope it wasn’t a nosy or “concerned neighbour”, but curious to know if they come out on their own or if someone has called it in?

Tornado Confirmed

Tornado Tuesday Confirmed: Northern Tornadoes Project Confirms Tornado Southeast of London

The Northern Tornadoes Project (NTP) has confirmed that a tornado did indeed touch down southeast of London in the Derwent and Belmont area during yesterday’s storm.

The tornado’s rating is still to be determined as the on-the-ground investigation continues. However, based on video shared to Ontario Storm Reports showing a tornado on the ground, along with radar analysis, the NTP is confident that the damage in this area was caused by a tornado.

There are also additional pockets of damage, including in eastern sections of the City of London, that remain under investigation. We are still awaiting confirmation on whether any of that damage was also tornado-related.

Yxu connection

So Im nervous about a flight i just booked for early july, the first leg is AC8260 and it departs 1530 from yxu and arrives 1615 in YYZ. Then I will be connecting onto the lufthansa 747 flight that leaves at 1820. Im afraid that the weather will delay the first leg and result in me missing the 747, do you think its a valid worry?

Feedback from parents: what do you think of Westminister Secondary School?

My daughter is going to high school soon so I’ve been looking into schools in the area. Westminister is the closest and certainly most convenient to my daughter but I keep being told to avoid it and the school’s low ratings online isn’t helping either. What is it about Westminister that gives it a bad rep? I personally went to Saunders in the early 2000s and honestly couldn’t tell you why it’s good or bad or how it compares to others.

tl;dr: should I not consider Westminister high school for my daughter and why?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance 🙏

Water not draining to catch basin (newly built less than a year)

Hi guys,

We moved into the Victoria on the River community (Commissioners & Hamilton area) about 5 months ago and have noticed stagnant water collecting at the end of our driveway after rain. It seems like the water isn’t properly flowing toward the catch basin.

Just wondering who would be the best contact for this issue — builder, property management, or the city?

Thanks in advance!
