Landmark Cinema Removed People From Concessions

Haven’t been to landmark in a while, just went today and they scanned our tickets and said if we wanted any concessions, we need to ring ourselves up on some touchscreen and take a number and wait. Shame to see the death of movie theatre concessions, only 1 person at the counter that you can’t talk to, makes you wonder how many people got fired to make the customers suffer through a crappy computer POS that barely functions. I guess it’s a bit of a rant, but is it crazy to think that maybe we don’t want to function as an unpaid employee when we go to the movie theatre? Am I crazy?

Silver City Masonville (Metal railings in front of every row of seats?)

I took my daughter to Toy Story 5 a few days ago at Silver City Masonville and there were these tall metal railings in front of every row of seats. I had bought the D-Box seats and it was the same case there.

Me a fully grown adult could not recline the seat in the slightest or the metal bar would block the view of the screen. I then crouched down in front of my young daughters seat to see what I could see from here eye level and it was literally the metal bar straight across the middle of the screen.

I had her sit on my lap and I propped her up for an hour and 45 minutes so she could watch the movie properly.

When were these bars installed?

Sunday morning

A lot of homeless people doing drugs in the open and throwing needles on the floo; I’ve seen like 20 doing this. Wtf could be done because this is unacceptable

Best Deals on Fabric

Looking to DIY a couple things with fabric and wasn’t sure what the most affordable route would be for at least somewhat decent fabric. Is it still Lens Mills? Or should I focus on any particular thrift stores? Would Fabric Land be a bad option? I’m open to going in whatever area of the city really.

Thanks :)

Aura Nightclub is terrible

I've been a regular to this club since February, but I won't be going again any time soon. It was supposed to open at 9:30 and they didn't let people in until 10:20, the cover charge was doubled to $10, the music was way too loud, and I was given a full pat-down even though I was only the few people that showed up (and a regular). This place has apparently changed hands many times since COVID. The fact that it is behind Jack's doesn't help it, but none of the previous owners advertised it very well. I'll check out Vice next time.

Badminton/pickleball groups

Recently moved to London after a short stay in Alberta. Looking for players/groups/schedules for badminton and pickleball in the city. I really need to get the body moving before the winters set in and the body rusts out.

Thank you!

Power outage Wonderland South / McMaster area

At about 12:30 i heard a loud bang near my apartment Wonderland south / McMaster area (Auburn Park apartments). Assuming transformer blew.

Exactly half of my power is down. Left side of fuse panel.

Talked to other tenants and they have similar. Some halls are dark while others still have light. Electronic controlled entry down.

Did report it to London Hydro and they said they are investigating. However the London Hydro website does not show any outages.

North London rentals?

Hi hi,

I’m having a pretty hard time finding rentals in the north end of London that fit my criteria (I wonder if I’m asking for too much 😭). I’m open to houses or apartments but I want to live with 1-2 other people MAX.

My main requirements is that it’s in a safe and quiet neighbourhood (I’m not a student but might be living with some but they don’t party at all), has ensuite laundry, no bugs/pests, built in 2018 and before, and it’s not a basement/no one is living in the basement. I’m personally willing to pay up to $1200 but in total w/ my other roommates, a total of $3000 max. Obviously I’d prefer for it to be under that.

Is this not doable? Am I looking at the wrong places? Should I get a realtor? I’ve been looking on Facebook marketplace, rentals and realtors. I know a lot of the family or quieter areas might reject students but I’m a recent graduate and my other roommates would be mature students who don’t drink, smoke, or party. I can also get a great reference from my landlord of 4 years and I have a credit score of 804 if that changes anything.

If anyone has any suggestions, I’d really appreciate it!! Thank you

Hi Londoners

Hi everyone! I’m in my 40s and looking for recommendations for bars or pubs in London, Ontario, that attract a more mature crowd (40+). I’m hoping for a relaxed place with good music, friendly people, and a nice atmosphere where it’s easy to meet others around my age. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Qatari Food in London

Hello Everyone,

I want to try food from every country that Canada has played against in the World Cup (kinda starting late now that they’re already eliminated oops). I’m struggling to find a Qatari restaurant in London.

Does anyone here know of a restaurant in London that serves Qatari food? Or at least a store that might sell any Qatari snacks?

Thank you!

Cheap/good dinner?

Hey yall. I’m stuck on where to get food for dinner for me my wife and child, we’re open to anything and honestly looking to try something new but on the cheaper side. Let’s hear your hidden gems around the city! (Wife is gluten free but it’s not as serious as cross contamination exposure)

Scots Corner - Canada vs Morocco

Place was packed to the rafters for today's game, so we ended up watching it in Victoria Park.

The result wasn't what we hoped for; but thank you Team Canada for making soccer history, and taking us this far. Reaching the round of 16 on the world's biggest stage is something to be proud of. This is the beginning of the future of Canadian soccer. ❤️🇨🇦⚽

Best place for a pedicure spa treatment!

Hey ya'll! You were incredibly helpful when I was looking for a hairstylist and ended up going to one of the recommendations!

Now I'm looking for somewhere to get a pedicure spa treatment! I'm talking calf and foot massage, deep clean and exfoliation, polish, etc.!

It's been an extremely long time since I've had a pedicure and I'd like to treat myself to something really nice. I'd prefer if it wasn't crazy expensive, but if it's worth the money, I might just go with it!

Thanks in advance and I hope you all have a lovely weekend :)
