Hi everyone,

My wife (45F) and I (40m) have exhausted 3 rounds of IVF. With my wife's age and my karyotype inversion having a genetic child of our own is a pipe dream at this point. We are located in SW Ont, Canada.

Our last chance is through an embryo donation.

The IVF clinic we are working with does not offer the opportunity to obtain / select through them.

We are not looking to work with an individual and obtain fresh embryos, but to hopefully select frozen based on education and physical attributes (hair of parents etc) to look similar to my wife if possible.

We were overwhelmed on every where to start. The world of buying embryos seems to be a lot different than we thought it would. We had some communication with Beginnings Family Services but it isn't quite for us. Meeting with the donors via zoom and having them involved through the process is quite emotional for us and makes us feel a certain way that is hard to describe.

We also spoke with TRIO but since we did not go through our initial fertility IVF session with them they will not offer an embryo service to non patients.

Wondering if anyone has run into this issue.

2022 is500 with 80k miles

When I press the door lock/unlock button on the key fob all the doors will lock/unlock except the drivers side rear passenger door. The only way I can lock unlock it is by manually using the physical lock from the interior. 

I have tried using the drivers door lock/unlock buttons next the window buttons, no luck either. 

I figure the motor may be done.

I can hear a noise from the the the affected door when locking/unlocking.

Anyone have any insight?

I (40m) want to take my wife (45f) Gatlinburg for the Smoky Mountain in mid - late October this year.

I have never been and will be making the ten hour drive down from the Detroit area.

I spoke with a friend who was there years ago and he said to stay near the mountain.

For things to do he mentioned;

Old Smokies Moonshine tasting

The see through suspension bridge

Drive through the smoky mountains.

I am making this post to ask for advice on where would be the best place to stay near activities, hopefully with a great room view and hot tub.

Things to do during the day.

Things to do at night after dinner (shows, great bars etc)

My wife and I car into cars and we will drive up a modified mustang to cruise through the mountain's with / take photos.

For my employment I sometimes have to measure the barrel length of prohibited pistols. I am looking for a cheap plastic rod that has the measurements on it so I can quickly ID the barrel length.

Hi everyone,

Last year my my wife and I had our cars ceramic coated with Modesta. I just gave her car a maintenance application of Modesta M2 Blast and M4 Smoke.

I noticed she has little rust spots in a few areas the car. I googled it and learned it was probably contaminants.

The car is BMW's Brooklyn Grey.

I did some more digging and it appears Adams Polishes Iron Remover is a good choice.

I just wanted to check in with this sub to confirm I can use it on the car and would love to hear application advice.

I will use it on my black car as well. But I haven't performed its maintenance yet, so I will apply the iron remover first. Can I apply to the Modesta M2 and M4 after I rinse away the Iron remover?

What oil filter does everyone use?

I have heard DENSO part number 1503023 is the same filter just not branded;

Or the Toyota filter part number 001542-YZZA4;

Or the Wix filter part number 57041.

Looking to buy in bulk and stock pile a few, curious to see what others run.

We are looking at a dealer offered service package of $1,620+Tax Canadian ($1,175 USD) that covers 76k KM (47k Miles) / 7 year that includes:

>1. Yearly engine oil and filter changes ($229.00+taxes)
2. Microfilter/cabin air filter replacements (approx $350-400+taxes)
3. Engine air filter replacements ($250+taxes)
4. Spark plug replacements (required every 3-4 years) (approx $600-700+taxes)
5. Transfer case service
6. Comprehensive factory vehicle checks ($60+taxes)
7. Complimentary BMW Roadside Assistance across Canada and the USA

On the surface if we can get 2x spark plug changes, one next year and another before the plan ends, just with oil changes and the spark plugs the cost would be $2,3xx,xx CAD.

I know we could get it done cheaper at a indy shop, but my wife likes being taken care of at the dealer and its close to her work. We have no indy shops in our town. All are 1+ hour away.

I know the filters are extremely over priced at the dealer so I am even counting them.

I am trying to confirm the actual service plan vs the vehicles recommended service schedule. Does anyone have the Canadian version of it?

Any thoughts on the service plan cost / benefit?

I am picking up a used Ark GRIP performance exhaust next week and from what I have read I need to get some new OEM gaskets for it to prevent CEL for omissions etc.

Does anyone here run that exhaust?

I know for sure I need the gasket from the headers back that would connect to the first part of the Ark system/midpipe. Does anyone know the part number for this?

Does anyone know if I use new OEM gaskets for the other connecting parts of the Ark GRIP system?

I bought a 2022 is500 last month and playing through the internal options on the infotainment center.

When looking at the vehicle settings, maintenance section, I click on oil, coolant, trans fluid etc, and its all just blank. Why wont any info show? I did an oil change a few weeks ago and reset the oil life on the dash menu with the steering wheel button, but this section shows nothing.

Additionally my vehicle did not come with an owners manual.

I see the oil changes are every 5k miles / 8,000 km. Is that with full synthetic oil? I put 5w-30 Pennzoil ultra platinum in it (always use pennzoil on my vehicles).

I am not into that personally and don't mind paying for quality. I know in the BMW world a lot of guys order from them. Apparently valvetronic started out by drop shipping them.
