I'm consistently getting cooked in div 2

Need some advice from higher-ranked players. I keep hitting a wall in Division 2.

I'm currently in Phase 12, and since the start of eFootball 2026 Divisions, I've reached Division 2 around 6–8 times. Every single time, the same thing happens.

I'll have a good run in Division 3, sometimes even go on a winning streak to earn promotion. Then, as soon as I reach Division 2, everything changes. The winning streak ends, I start losing consistently, and eventually I either stop playing until the phase ends or get relegated back to Division 3.

At this point, I don't want to blame scripting or pay-to-win teams. I know those things get mentioned a lot, but that's part of the game. I'm more interested in knowing what I'm doing wrong.

I mainly use Xabi Alonso. My preferred playstyle is Out Wide because I like stretching the pitch instead of having everyone crowd the middle. I only switch to Quick Counter when I'm experimenting with narrower formations, like a Christmas tree setup.

My usual formation is either 4-2-1-3 or 4-2-3-1.

I'm basically a free-to-play player. Out of my entire squad, I've only spent money on one player.

When I attack, I try to read the situation instead of forcing one style. If I notice my winger is isolated on the far side, I'll switch play or cross. For example, if Messi has the ball on the right and Figo is free on the left, I'll try to find him. I also enjoy dribbling and using skill moves whenever I think they'll create space.

The weird thing is that I can't even explain exactly what I'm struggling with. It just feels like attacking in Division 2 is completely different from attacking in Division 3. Even if two opponents are using similar formations or defenders, the Division 2 players make it much harder to create chances. It feels like they close passing lanes faster, defend space better, and punish mistakes much more consistently.

strongest mf you'll prolly ever meet forced themselves to sit through a full listen of ADL and convinced themselves that it's a good project
