Tips on studying the HSPA

I’m interested in SP and I plan on self studying and then taking the exam as there are no programs close to me. I received my HSPA textbook today and have just finished the first chapter. Side note, I was never the best in school or studying so I’m hoping I can push through self studying and get through the test. What are some tips of studying a book? What key things should I highlight or write down? I started writing all of the key words and the definitions but I wasn’t sure that was right and Google told me I shouldn’t do that it’s overload. I plan on reading through the book, watching some YouTube videos thesterileguy and I believe there’s another, I might also purchase their course or notes to go over. But what are your tips for studying?
Also what chapters should I really focus on?

Apologies for the silly questions. I want to prove myself wrong that I can get through studying, taking a test and just getting through something that’s a little harder. :))
Thank you

Which camping stove for all weather? (Northern CA)

I’m wanting to get over my fear of using one of these stoves, because I’d love to cook my meals rather than buy fast food everyday.

I’m looking for a single burner camping stove. I’m not worried about price, something I can use for a while. And what type of gas? And how long does it last you? I’m sure it’ll tell me which gas I’d need on the box, I’m reading propane is probably best for hot and cold weather. And where do you store the gas? Thanks :))

How much are you guys spending on food? And what foods?

Hi! I’ve been on this journey a couple of months now. I’ve mostly been eating fast food 1-2x a day. I know that isn’t the healthiest/cheapest thing to do but it’s been convenient. I don’t plan on getting a fridge or cooler. So that’s what I’ve been doing. I haven’t been tracking but I’d say easily $300-400 a month.

How much are you spending a month on food?

What are some breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack ideas you guys have been doing? Fridge or cooking appliances don’t matter I’m just curious. :))

To my Urbancarliving peeps

Hi. This has been a journey so far. I’m pretty new still to this life. How are you guys doing holding up?

One of my biggest things is figuring out affordable meals. I dont feel comfortable using a camp stove or electric stoves. I dont have a cooler or power bank which is fine. I’ve mostly been eating fast food 2x a day. I stay in more of the placer county area or CH. but I’m curious what you guys are keeping in your car/eating/snacking. Any pictures would be lovely.

Sterile Processing Tech

Hello friends, I know this is a smaller group and not really located specifically anywhere but I’m interested in getting into the sterile processing tech industry, I don’t see a lot of programs in the area (Sacramento, CA) unless I’m overlooking them. But the ones I see are over an hour away. But do any of you guys have any experience or recommendations to where I can take classes and get certified? I’d love to hear about your job experience and how you like the job so far or any other information you may have, books i should get etc.

I am solo self employed now doing janitorial for commercial spaces but I need something more long term and stable. Thank you, good day friends!

Wisp prescription

I’m looking into getting a preventative prescription through wisp. And I answered a few basic questions. But it didn’t ask me anything about how many outbreaks I get or anything like that and it’s just prescribed me 1000mg of Valacyclovir. What I’m reading online is if you get fewer outbreaks you can take 500mg daily, if you get more then you take 1000mg. Would I be able to just break them apart and take half a day or should I consider another site?

For context I haven’t been to a primary care doctor for an appointment/prescription as I don’t have one yet. I’ve gotten blood work done at Quest, and I’m looking to get something in the meantime.

Raising prices for your side hustle/business

I can’t really say I’m a business owner because I’ve had one consistent client for the last 5 years with a few small jobs here and there. And that’s what’s been working for me, I’m a content solo cleaner with one other worker who cleans on my off days. That’s besides the point. I’ve been cleaning for this owner for 5 years, I originally started cleaning their space for $200/night every day of the year minus a few major holidays. Later on they open another location and we got bumped up to $300/night. That lasts for a bit. As they grow their business and investors come in they think they’re paying us too much for our services, which some might agree. I mean it’s the most I’ve made my entire work life. We have a work meeting about a year and a half ago and they want to drop our pay, they feel they’re over paying us, another business came in and offered a cheaper price, they’re “more legit” as we don’t have licensing, insurance, business page, yada yada. They want us to give them a price, they didn’t like that price so we settled for $225/night ($75 drop in price) doing the same work. We have never raised prices in the last 5 years, we’ve only got more work with another space opening so it’s been fine/okay. They mentioned back when we had the meeting we can revisit this. But I feel like a lot of what the owner says is just fluff. But we work really hard, and idk if I’m getting burnt out or the lesser pay is getting to me as everything around us in the world is getting more expensive but..

how do I go about talking about a pay raise? How much do business raise prices every year? (Someone mentioned 10-15%) 10-15% each year? is that high? Do most business raise prices each year? Is there a specific time in the year you do it, I’m assuming at the start of the year, or do you raise prices as needed no matter the time?

I’m no business expert if any at all I’m just kind of winging it and I feel like you can hurt yourself more by doing so. But I don’t have plans on growing or scaling my business much after this. I’m just trying to figure out pricing for this one job or even just advice. Idk if asking for a raise is even smart as it’s my only source of income..

Wisp vs Nurx vs twentyeighthealth for HSV preventative.

What are some of the differences of these sites? Price, quality, shipping. I don’t currently have insurance or a prescription from a doctor.

I have HSV1. I believe GHSV1 as I haven’t been swabbed for location. Since I don’t know exactly the location would it be beneficial to just take the Preventative Treatment for HSV-1 & HSV-2 (wisp) until I know for sure if it’s orally or genitally?

Any other information or your experience is appreciated. Thank you

How to get prescription without an outbreak?

Some time ago I found out I have HSV1 through a blood test from Quest, I tested twice. I have never been swabbed to confirm location but I believe it’s GHSV1. There’s one area down there where it’s felt itchy, tingly, and it’s formed some sort of bump. And it’s been in the same spot a few times now with the same symptoms so I’m assuming that’s where it is. I haven’t had another OB since finding out.

I haven’t been sexually active since finding out my status, but I am casually dating now and disclosed to my partner that I have it. They’re fine with it as long as we’re being careful and safe and on medication. I don’t have a primary care doctor so I made an appointment at planned parenthood to try and talk to them more about it and possibly get prescribed something. Since I didn’t have an OB there wasn’t anything they could do for me. So I left. And I made an appointment to hopefully meet with a primary care doctor but that won’t be for a month or so. Am I supposed to wait to meet with them, possibly test, and then wait for that test and then they’ll prescribe me?

I have a friend who also has HSV but theirs is orally. And they mentioned they could give me some of their medication if I needed it. But I’m assuming that’s not how it works, depending on how many outbreaks someone has, location, numbers? etc. correct me if I’m wrong.

Also, this is what my test said “Herpes Simplex Virus 1 Ab IgG
HIGH
Current Result
57.80 index” can someone please tell me what this means? Are my numbers high? What do the numbers mean?

Difference in medications? Symptoms? Online prescriptions?

I’m new to all of this and haven’t thoroughly talked to a professional so I’m trying to figure this all out.
