I built an instant remote control for shared spaces

It's a universal remote hub that is operable via an instant app. Scan the QR code and the app appears already configured with the hub. Also works via an NFC tag instead of QR.

Germ free and no replacing batteries or remotes. Customizable remote user interfaces for specific installation needs. Opening lots of possibilities.

The hub is powered just via usb-c and does not require an internet connection. Built as a local-first solution for longevity and for integrations such as Home Assistant.

You can control all your devices from one interface with macros and button mapping.

A new universal remote hub

Hey all. I’ve taken a lot of the feedback from the community here into building my universal remote hub. It’s finally launching (tomorrow), so I’m a bit excited.

It's designed local-first (BLE or LAN). So the intention is that you never have to depend on our servers to run it. Features include macros, code learning, custom remote interfaces, button mappings, an instant remote for family and guests, permissions system, etc..

I hope to continue to gather feedback from you all even if you don’t back it. One of the stretch goals is to develop a physical remote that pairs with it. Super excited to develop this as it will have some pretty cool features IMO

Still the early days but the vision is for the things we build to exist beyond us developing it. To leave behind IR databases, source code, a community, but these goals are a work in progress as now we are just trying to get off the ground.

I made a universal remote hub with an instant app

A local-first universal remote control hub that connects over Bluetooth Low Energy but also supports control over your WiFi.

Supports controlling multiple devices at once, macros, custom command mapping, code learning, etc..

And I'm showing of this audio streaming for the first time.

Been in the works for over a year and a half, launching pretty soon on Kickstarter so excited and nervous!
