good luck for the 2027 cycle!! + some advice :)

my second year on here despite getting into my schools last cycle so here we are again 💔 i just wanted to wish everyone good luck as the 26-27 year begins and offer a few words of “wisdom” (even though technically i’m also applying to transfer…again lol)

if you’re here, i already know that you definitely have drive and want to succeed, and that’s something you’ll need to remind yourself of throughout your whole process. remember your why and i promise you it’ll take you so far. cling to it and don’t let go because the second you lose focus of what your goal is, all hell will break loose. stay on top of everything!! i don’t care how smart you are or how you react in last minute positions, if you slip, it’ll be hard to catch back up. also, you don’t even want to be in a place where you have to deal with that. please just keep yourself on track lol.

i know being on this sub can make it feel like you’re miles behind everyone else… trust me, i felt the same way. i literally spent hours on this every single day last year, trying to analyze EVERYTHING, everyone’s stats, everything regarding admissions, and it did nothing except
dig a deeper pit of anxiety in my stomach. and guess what? it really was all for nothing because even though my stats didn’t look like the ones i was seeing on here, i still got into my dream schools. and i know this might seem ironic because i didnt commit and have to reapply, but i’ll be following my own advice because i still have faith that ill get in where im meant to be and i cant be reined in despite any circumstance. the most you can do is do your best, put in all the effort you can, and have faith in yourself and your abilities.

i’ll be going into my sophomore year now and reapplying as a junior transfer, so if any prospective sophomore transfers have any questions i’d love to help out!! and if any junior transfers have any guidance, id love to connect. i know this community can get crazy sometimes, but we’re here to help eachother at the end of the day.

good luck to everyone!! wishing you all an amazing semester and a wishful admissions season :)

rejected my transfer acceptances to reapply next year…?

hello friends!! i thought i’d finally escape this sub but sadly i am here again for another year.

long story short, i just finished my freshman year at cc and during that time, i had applied to transfer for fall 2026. and here are the results of the main schools i applied to:

usc: admitted
nyu: admitted
bu: admitted

all of these schools were my dream school at some point, but to keep it short, finances interfered so i had to reject all of my offers from these schools in order to stay at cc for one more year and then transfer out because my family took on financial burdens this year which ended up affecting my whole plan when it came to tuition costs, etc.

now my question is: will i still be able to reapply to these schools and not have the fact that i rejected admission when i applied this year hurt my chances?

in the scenario where my stats stay the same/improve, im wondering if that will put me at a disadvantage.

it genuinely kills me that i cant attend any of these schools despite how much i dreamed of it before, but i refuse to give up. i don’t know if anyone’s been in this situation before but any advice would help!!

(p.s: i plan on applying to usc and bu again and more schools this time as i literally have to transfer out next year because i graduate cc lol. i only applied to so little because i didn’t have high hopes of being admitted and barely planned on actually transferring out by this fall 🥲)

applying again next year even though i was admitted to my dream schools…?

i can’t believe i’m actually saying this but i got into my dream schools (usc, bu, etc) as a sophomore transfer, but the debt id acquire after 3 years at both is way too much, so im honestly thinking about declining both offers and applying again next year so i can apply to more scholarships, work more, and honestly apply to more schools in general.

now my question is, will i get rejected when i apply again next year after getting admitted the first time and rejecting the offer? is this the smartest choice? i have to decide by june 5th/june 9th.

for context: bu gave me no aid because i didnt fill out the css profile in time (i had issues with my portal), and usc is asking for 30k a year which would add up to 90k. im planning on majoring in marketing.

this is genuinely making me so sad because i finally got into my dream schools, but i know financially its not a smart move to be in that much debt. someone please give me some advice. :)

advice for moving across the country for usc?

hi!! i recently was admitted to usc as a transfer at the sophomore level. usc has been my dream school for nearly 4 years now, but now that i’ve actually gotten in, ive been really anxious about it.

as someone from the east coast (pennsylvania), the distance is the most intimidating thing for me. im scared of not finding a community that makes usc feel like home or missing my family too much, but it also might just be my anxiety talking. usc genuinely has everything i could want in a school, but my fear is the only thing making me hesitate right now. i grinded for years to get to this point and talked about california/usc everyday when i initially came back from visiting, but i feel like over time i’ve forgotten why im so passionate about my love for usc.

does anyone that moved far for usc have any advice? how do i deal with this feeling? am i just overthinking it? thanks :)

transfer admit but i just now submitted css…

hi! i was just admitted into bu yesterday as a transfer and im really worried about my financial aid situation because i genuinely wasn’t expecting to get in at all as i thought my application was withdrawn.

for context, i applied to bu back in february and after submitting it i never recieved an email to access my portal. i tried reaching out multiple times but never got a response, so i ultimately assumed my application had been withdrawn since i wasnt able to submit any materials, and most of all, wasnt able to see what financial aid information they were requesting. i submitted my fafsa, but i wasn’t aware that i needed to submit my css profile as well. i also never got any notifications asking me to submit it.

jumping back to the present, i recieved an email telling me my decision was ready despite the fact that i hadn’t been able to access my portal this whole time to upload anything just to see i was accepted. thats when i saw that i was missing the css profile and i missed the deadline by a while. i submitted it right away, but im worried that its way too late and theres nothing that can be done even considering my situation. i really do love bu, but the only way id be able to go is if i were given financial aid as i am low income.

please let me know if anyone has ever been in a similar situation or if theres anything i can do!! thank you :)
