Thoughts on these compacts? I hear great things about Hickman and Morrison!

I’m currently reading Hush and Under the Red Hood. After that, I’m planning to read Scott Snyder’s Court of Owls Saga. Once I finish that, I’m thinking about picking up one of the Batman omnibus runs.

Which one would you recommend first?

Scott Snyder
Grant Morrison
Tom King
Chip Zdarsky
James Tynion IV

Or is there another Batman omnibus you’d recommend over those?

After about a 15-year hiatus, I recently got back into comic books. The Absolute line—especially Absolute Batman—is what pulled me back in.

I read Year One, The Long Halloween, and Dark Victory back to back, and I can honestly say all three are 10/10. If I had to rank them, I’d probably go:

What Batman run should I tackle after that? I’d love to hear your thoughts on writers like Scott Snyder, Grant Morrison, Tom King, Chip Zdarsky, James Tynion IV, or anyone else you’d recommend.

What are your thoughts on the Spider-Man: Brand New Day Compact Comic? I recently got back into comics after being away for nearly 15 years, and this is one of the books I picked up. I’m only a few issues in, but so far I’m not really clicking with it. The story hasn’t hooked me yet, and I’m finding the art a little hard to follow at times. I also don’t love the concept of the Compact edition pulling selected stories from the original run instead of collecting everything in order—it makes it feel a little disconnected to me. Right now I’d probably give it a 4/10. Does it get better, or is this just not the run for me?
