[OC] The Jacksonville Jaguars and NASA's Space Shuttle were Doomed by the Same Disease
Full disclosure: I made this for a podcast produced by the law firm where I work. It’s demonetized, has no ads, and I had complete creative control... no sane legal marketing department would have authorized this.
Inspired by Dan, a love of history, and 30 years of Jaguars suffering, I made a 2½-hour vanity project intertwining the Jaguars’ history from 2003–16 with NASA’s post-Apollo era through the Columbia disaster.
Both were damaged by the same institutional disease: survival became proof that the system worked, the standard kept slipping, and eventually failure became normal.
The stakes aren’t equivalent, but the pathology is.
