According to Maxie's team, the viral video is from an incident that occurred in Cabanatuan City around three years ago. In their statement, they say the confrontation escalated after Maxie's boundaries as a performer were repeatedly crossed, alleging that she was pulled, touched, followed, and had her wig pulled. They also state that the matter was addressed privately with the people involved at the time.

Afterward, in a roughly two-minute Instagram Live (which was later deleted), Maxie acknowledged that the circulating video was from three years ago, apologized for her behavior, and said that the issue had already been settled with the other party. She also expressed that this would be the last time she would have to apologize for the incident.

However, screenshots shared by people who say they were assaulted during the incident appear to dispute that claim. In the messages, one person responds to the suggestion that there had been a public apology and reconciliation by saying:

"No one has contacted me. Big no."

When told that Maxie had said they had already forgiven each other, the response was:

"Is she stupid? She hasn't even messaged me. How are we already reconciled?"

The fourth image is a post from one of the people who says they were assaulted during the incident. They describe the event as deeply traumatic and recall repeatedly pleading:

"TAMA NA PO, HINDI PO AKO YUN."
("Please stop. That wasn't me.")

They also write that watching the recently resurfaced footage brought back painful memories of what happened.

Many people online have also pointed out the irony that Maxie has been cast as Trisha in Die Beautiful: The Musical. Trisha is a transgender woman whose story includes surviving physical and sexual violence.

[DRPH] Viral Video Appears to Show Drag Race PH Season 3 Winner Maxie Assaulting a Trans Woman

CONTEXT: According to accounts circulating online, the incident began after Maxi's performance at a bar. As Maxi was leaving the venue, she stopped to take photos with fans. Among those waiting was a transgender woman who was reportedly heavily intoxicated and, in her excitement, accidentally grabbed and pulled Maxi's hair.

Because Maxi was wearing a wig that had been glued down, the sudden pull reportedly caused significant pain. Maxi and her handler told the fan not to pull her hair before leaving the venue in their van.

Witnesses claim that a short time later, Maxi and her group returned because Maxi was still upset and wanted to confront the person responsible. Before the actual fan approached, another transgender woman, who reportedly had no involvement in the incident, stepped forward only to apologize on behalf of the intoxicated fan.

According to these accounts, Maxi mistakenly believed this person was responsible and allegedly pulled them into the van, where they were punched and kicked. Someone accompanying Maxi reportedly realized the mistake and said, "Hindi siya 'yon, hindi siya 'yon" ("That's not the person"), after which the individual was released. This alleged assault inside the van does not appear in the viral video.

Shortly afterward, the actual fan who had pulled Maxi's hair came forward, apologized, and reportedly explained that she had been intoxicated and did not fully realize what she had done. Witnesses allege that Maxi responded by saying, "Sasaktan kita" ("I'm going to hurt you"). One of the people accompanying Maxi then allegedly slapped the fan, escalating the confrontation. This is the portion that appears in the widely circulated video.

As a result, the viral footage does not appear to capture the full sequence of events. The earlier alleged assault on the uninvolved individual inside the van was not recorded, so the video begins only after those events had reportedly taken place.
