Arabtonian Shura Council Begins Voting on Digital Infrastructure Development Law

Zkaapolis, August 17, 2026 — The Arabtonian Shura Council has begun voting on the proposed Digital Infrastructure Development Law, a legislative project aimed at digitizing government services and establishing a unified digital infrastructure across the Arabtonian Empire.

The proposal, submitted by Majid Al-Tariqi on August 16, 2026, is currently marked as “Under Vote.”

According to the current results, the proposal has received 264 votes in favor (57%), compared with 128 votes against (28%), while 69 members (15%) have abstained.

The proposal has also sparked discussions among council members. Some participants emphasized that cybersecurity should be the top priority, while others called for stronger protection of citizens’ data and a thorough review of the proposal before approval.

One discussion participant highlighted that digital transformation is necessary for the Empire while stressing the importance of protecting citizens’ personal data.

Voting remains open as the Shura Council continues discussing the proposal before reaching a final decision.

Official Update – Micronation Chess World Cup

The Empire of Arabtonia would like to provide an important update regarding the Micronation Chess World Cup.

So far, 5 micronations have successfully registered for the tournament. We are grateful for their participation and support.

However, because the tournament is planned as a single-elimination (knockout) competition, 5 participants are not enough to create a balanced tournament bracket. Ideally, the number of participants should allow the bracket to progress fairly, such as 4, 8, 16, or more participants.

If we do not reach a suitable number for a knockout bracket, the tournament may instead begin with a group stage, with the top players advancing to the knockout rounds.

We encourage all micronations that have not yet registered to join the tournament and help make the first Micronation Chess World Cup a great success.
