People like this are why DPS players are so widely hated.

This guy was previous OAA ~130 or so, and spends all day every day trying to create excuses to throw.

Quickplay I just played with him he got butthurt that I died before I could heal him, so he swaps to Strange and traps us in spawn with portal. Goes Widow round 2 and keeps leaving/rejoining to make sure we don't get a replacement.

Too many people like this in the community, with weak mentals and no father. The fact that most of these players are DPS one tricks is why the role and its players are so hated by the community

Shes somehow more clunky than before? Feels awful to play on controller

I don't mind the new playstyle, but a lot of things in the new kit feel like they were made by someone that didn't understand why Widow felt so bad previously.

You've never been able to cancel the reload animation by sprinting, and that still hasn't changed. Holding the weapon swap button while shooting no longer buffers the weapon swap for the rare occasion you actually use them.

And having to keep pressing the ult button to scope or unscope for her ult feels TERRIBLE.

Not even a toggle in settings for any of the new stuff, no autosprint, slam cooldown wasn't bound by default for me.

I want to like the rework but idk it feels like it wasn't made with controller players in mind.

Edit: even rebinding ADS on controller feels bad because the ADS is a toggle instead of a hold like it was before (or like it is with any sniper ever)

This game needs to stop giving DPS characters "autolock" skills and abilities

DPS is supposed to be the "high skill" role, yet a sizable portion of the bloated DPS roster have skills that autolock and do the work for you.

The obvious frustration this season is that Cyclops has a cooldown that automatically seeks out players and guarantees a free aimless low HP kill, on an otherwise respectably aim-reliant character. Same frustrations that people have had about Moon Knight for the last few seasons, but on an even stronger character.

Even on bad characters the autolock isn't fun to play against. Escaping at 1hp just to accidentally die to a Scarlet Witch that has her crosshair nowhere near you is ass. Getting hit by Widow rekick sucks because (barring no kick bugs or outside interference) she has a guaranteed followup.

The most egregious imo is the various melee autolock. Spiderman autopull into free combo is the most unfun and skilless ability/combostring on what should be the hardest character to master in the game. Iron Fist autolunge means that a character that should involve learning perfect spacing gets to bypass that entirely in favor of a locking autotrack. DD marked auto dash was the worst offender of this until its nerf this season, but a slap on the wrist for distance isn't enough to cull the frustrations of yet another automatic gap closer on a melee character.

And these are just the abilities that I hate the most. There are other autolock cooldowns that aren't as miserable like Namor squid or Fantastic backshots, but that just adds to the list of low skill requirement abilities. If the DPS only players want to believe themselves to be "high skill", then all of these strong no aim abilities do nothing but bail them out for lack of skill.

Edit: Honorable Mention for frustrating/skilless, Starlord and Psylocke with the autoaim teamwipe ults. Buffing both ults as the Devs have has led to a boring and toxic "ult farm" playstyle for the only two divers that actually had true aim reliance.

Can we get a megathread for matchup specific tips?

Nats kit isn't crazy complicated, but how her kit interacts with the cast is something I've been learning through my grind to Champion. Would love a thread for us to come back to and add to as we learn more.

A few that I've encountered:

- First Edge Dancer kick goes through some shields, but not all of them count towards the "regrab". Strange and Magneto shield can be kicked through and regrab works on anyone not shielded. However, kick does not go through arm shields like Angela or Cap. Often these give me hit markers and sound cues, but still uses the cooldown and doesn't allow regrab.

-Rekick timing is crucial, especially against divers. Stunning a Venom or an Angela as they use their escape is backbreaking for them. Waiting for rekick until after Magik portal usually secures a kill or makes them waste all cooldowns to escape. Same principla with Black Cat/Panther, wait until you can guarantee a kick after their dash, and the rekick stops their whole gameplan cold.

-Against DD and Iron Fist you have to be VERY careful with kick timing. Hitting Fist block still lets you rekick, but frequently gives him too much overshield to shoot through. DD can straight up deflect kick and waste its cooldown, so either bait the deflect out or kick someone else so you can rekick the DD.

-Spiderman is a fair fight, and becomes so much easier if you track him pre-engage. If you preemptively look in his direction as he hits you with a tracer, it gives you much better timing to kick him mid-pull or mid-uppercut. Even better if you shoot him as he pulls himself to you.

- Dont be afraid to headshot tanks! Obviously don't spend all game only shooting them, but repeated 240HP strikes to a tank will force out defensive resources quick.

-Widow ult is best when comboed with something else meaningful (Groot/Rocket/Angela/etc..) but don't be afraid to rip that shit to delete an unsuspecting squishy. If you want to solo ult a specific support, be sure to bait out shields like Fox/Invis before going for it. Bodyshot+Full charge ult ftw

-Shoot large heads! Jeff/Dino/Peni/Groot/Thing all have giant head hitboxes to farm kills or damage on.

-SAVE ULT FOR ALLY ROCKET AMP. SHOOT THAT SHIT AT WHATEVER SQUISHY HAS BEEN PISSING YOU OFF
