skincare is literally just a money pit and my skin still looks like garbage 🤡

honestly just here to vent bc i’m so over it i’ve spent SO much money this year trying to fix my barrier [my bank account is crying] and nothing works. it’s like my skin can’t hold onto any water at all i do my whole routine and 10 mins later my face is tight and red again it’s so draining to keep trying new things and getting zero results. anyone else stuck in this cycle? i’m literally terrified to try anything new but my skin feels so gross and dehydrated. help??

i wish i never touched retinol lol [barrier update]

literally the biggest mistake of my life. i thought i was doing something good but i totally destroyed my skin barrier. now my face is red, peeling, and stings whenever i touch it. even the "gentle" stuff gives me bumps and whiteheads now. it’s so draining spending hundreds of dollars just to hate my skin more every day. is anyone else stuck in this nightmare where your skin just rejects everything?? i’m so sick of the constant dehydration and redness i literally want to cry 🙃

huge mistake guys... i think i totally nuked my skin barrier i thought i was doing something good for my skin but now it’s just red peeling and feels like it’s 2 sizes too small for my face. it’s that weird kind of dry where it looks shiny but feels like sandpaper [if that makes sense??] nothing stays hydrated for more than a second i’m so tired of waking up with a red face and feeling like i can’t fix it. please tell me someone else has survived this bc i’m losing hope 🙃

idk what’s going on with my skin lately
it feels like it just stopped holding moisture like i put moisturizer and few hours later it’s dry again
i did start using retinol and acids so maybe i messed up my skin barrier idk now everything kinda irritates it even basic stuff also getting tiny whiteheads from products that are supposed to hydrate??
texture feels rough pores look bigger and random redness i’ve tried a bunch of stuff and nothing really worked anyone else went through this or just me?
My Current Routine:
• Cleanser: Gentle non-foaming cleanser
• Moisturizer: Basic hydrating cream
• Sunscreen: SPF 50
(I've tried adding more layers but it feels like the hydration just doesn't stay in)
