I'm looking to build a shore jigging spin rod. Note I'm in Australia so blank options are a bit limited. Any recommendations for something 10 foot long and good to toss 40g jigs off the rocks?

My son wants to build a bait casting to rod to use for light freshwater fishing. What reel should I get?

Ideally one and done for several years.

He uses a daiwa exceler spinning reel currently on his ultralight spinning setup. Something of similar quality would be good but we've never done any overhead stuff before so your guidance would be appreciated.
