I would just say it’s the fact that it’s a reboot so it has the audacity to essentially wipe away all of the events of past games after we spent so much time waiting for Pikmin 4 but since that’s a bit too easy, I’ll pick something else.

The Night Expeditions from Pikmin 4 really ruined what used to be one of the greatest mysteries of the Pikmin franchise in my opinion. I have spent so much time imagining what kind of abominations must walk the Earth during nighttime to even scare Olimar away from continuing to work towards his escape (when he only has 30 days) during the first game.

Well, what’s Pikmin 4’s answer to that? During nighttime, enemies just have ridiculous goofy red eyes and want to eat a bunch of starbits from Super Mario Galaxy? That’s so lame. 🫩

They are not equal in speed, Gyutaro is consistently showed as faster than Tengen in relevant speed categories.

When Tengen first sees Gyutaro, he literally attempts a fully serious blitz attempt while in a fresh healthy state and Gyutaro is easily able to block that and somehow carry his sister across the room to wipe away her tears. Tengen then attempts to use his apparently distracted state as he wipes away Daki’s tears to blitz him BUT Gyutaro manages to turn around, see him coming, assess the attack, block Tengen’s hit and place his own attack that Tengen can barely counter in time to avoid death and still gets poisoned.

In later situations during their fight, it’s easy to notice that every single time a slayer’s blade gets close to Gyutaro’s neck, things appear to be in slow motion and he seems to always be able to block them even while caught off guard explicitly or poisoned. He was quite literally never scared up until the climax of the fight as seen with the large grin he harbours when he should be worried.

Even during the climax, once Tengen gets his MST and basically a form of slight precognition, he cannot manage to land to land his blade against Gyutaro’s neck at any point. He could just manage to clash as Gyutaro’s equal for a little while and needed Tanjiro to finish the job.
