I am in the process of completing this helmet and now I just need to finish the surface and rivet it together but I am wondering how I should finish the surface like if I should use linseed oil on it or just polish the surface.

I plasma cut my dirt knife yesterday but I accidentally cut a little to far on one spot and I’m worried that it’s going to snap when I try to whittle with it (it is made from A2 tool steel)
