We stayed at a 4* hotel in Rome last night and left two travel bags with reception after checking out around 11am.
We picked them up around 2pm and went straight to Fiumicino.

The bags stayed with us the entire time, including as cabin baggage on the flight to home.

Once home, we realized a small handbag was missing from inside one of the main bags. We’re 100% sure it was packed before checkout. We also noticed some cosmetics/jewellery pouches inside the luggage had been left half open.

We’ve asked the hotel to preserve CCTV footage and we’re filing a police report.

Has anyone experienced something similar at this hotel, or with hotel luggage storage in Rome? Any advice on getting the police to request the CCTV footage from abroad?

I'm looking to buy my first nice lighter. I'm a cigar smoker, and I currently own a one-flame (butane) Zippo that I don't find very strong.

I was hoping to spend around 300/400 bucks max.

I'm looking for something well designed, mostly metal structure, and with a good flame for my cigars. I love ST Dupont, but I heard the Biggy is made in China, so not really sure.. Therefore, I kept looking and saw the Elie Bleu Diamond Jetflamme, more or less the same style as the Biggy but better quality? And the Corona Double Corona.

Any recommendations?

I'm planning to come to Sicily with my girlfriend from August 6th to 11th.
We will land in Catania. Our main goal is to relax and do a bit of sightseeing — I’d say 60% beach and 40% visiting towns.

I was thinking of renting an Airbnb in Ortigia from the 6th to the 9th and visiting the nearby beaches (if you have any recommendations, I’m open to suggestions!). Then, from the 9th to the 11th, I’d stay in Letojanni and spend one day visiting Taormina.

I’ll probably rent a car at Catania Airport too. What do you think of this plan? It’ll be our first time in Sicily.
