The next season SHOULD be an opportunity to make AFK Journey better!

Here's what I would love to see in the next season.

  1. Have Chippy be killed early in the season story. Then Hammie. Since Season 8 would be about mortality, it fits right in. Do it in a painfully emotional way.
  2. Have Merlin die and navigate the afterlife. This would be a chance to see Feli, Perseus, and characters who have tragically died. And a chance to escape back to Esperia!
  3. Integrate Necromancy as one of the gimmicks and have Merlin be FORCED to learn and use. A puzzle where the lever is out of reach but you have to raise an undead and guide the undead to the lever to pull it so you can unlock the gate.
  • This reminds me of Necrotower puzzle in AQWorlds where you have to click on skeleton and guide the skeleton through a maze of traps to the lever to raise the elevator.
  1. KEEP the Reputation quests and put back Voyage of Wonders.
  2. Scale back on levelling. For a change, try using 240 + Resonance Synergy and have the story enemies scale to your starting season level. The enemy level doesn't grow during the season. I'm tired of levelling to 1200 each season. Please. Less burnout on levelling.
  • For this reason, Primal Lords might need their rewards adjusted. Try placing more emphasis on gear upgrading.

Just my two cents on what I want in the next season.

Homestead decorations additions: Minigames

How cool would it be to allow us to play minigames on Homestead?

  • Century Quest (1-player and the all-new 2-player mode!)
    • You can invite to play with your friend on 2-player mode!
    • On 2-player mode, try to score more than your opponent! Two cards flip simultaneously. Be careful not to click on your opponent's card or your opponent will score instead!
  • Packing Puzzle
    • The puzzle minigame you know and love. Each time you complete the puzzle, it increments the counter by 1.
    • Can be played infinitely. The pieces and layout are randomized each time.
    • Also comes in astral version!
  • Crazy Colours
    • The all-new card mode!
    • The decoration is unlocked after collecting enough Azure Tokens!
    • You can play against the heroes, each with their own difficulty. You can also play against a player opponent, simply invite your friend! Want to make it even crazy? Play with up to three opponents!

There might be a few more that could be interesting, such as building your own time trials, placing down checkpoints! Build your own laser and mirror puzzle that plays some fireworks each time it's complete!

I love the addition of Dappled Forest biome. But it feels like a missed opportunity to add Maple trees.

Seeing as Dappled Forest is autumn-themed, there is one more tree I think SHOULD be in.

We got Poplars but we should also get Maple trees. They can exist alongside Poplar and the could be identical rarity to how birch trees appear in forest biomes aka uncommon.

It'd make the biome feel more complete.

I know it's only the first snapshot but there's potential for much more!

Move Primal Lords from the map to the event interface in future seasons

Currently, if a Primal Lord is locked in an area that you don't have access, you can't challenge the Primal Lord.

The proposal is quite simple: move them to the events interface so you can challenge without having to warp to a waystone.

This would be a massive QoL. Sure, that means Eternal Inscription will have to change but it can be in some sort of library interface too.

Re-add and repurpose Divine Locations

Since the removal of Divine Locations from Divination, the skill now felt much emptier.

There is a way, however, that it could return.

Instead of using the ingredients, you could use the corresponding spirits. Stone spirits for divine rocks, wood spirits for divine trees, fish spirits for divine bubbles, herb spirits for divine herb patches, hunter spirits for divine hunting locations.

The daily limit is removed. They will cost a lot of energy to weave.

When you have the divine locations prepared, you will need to find the corresponding resource nodes such as runite ore rocks if you wish to use divine rune rock.

Once used, the ore rocks will become a divine location. You can gather very fast, practically as fast as the old divine locations. The cap from a single location is based on your corresponding gathering skill, your Divination level, and your total level. Once you hit the cap, you no longer experience the increased speed and you'll be practically treated as just harvesting as normally. The divine location will disappear, after which the resource node reverts back to normal.

You will gradually regenerate the cap over time, usually on a hourly basis but depending on your Divination level and perk setup, it can be anywhere between 1 and 4 hours (numbers can be tweaked for balancing). You'll regenerate even when not logged in. This is in line with DailyScape reduction.

Since Gravite Necromancy weapons are being added...

Can there be a possibility of removing the level 20 cap for Necromancy and just make it a standard F2P skill with the usual band of level unlocks consistent with standard free skills?

This would require doing the following changes:

  • Kili Row - This quest does NOT require going into member areas. Lesser Ensouled Cloth and Lesser Ensouled Bars are made using spider silk armour and steel bars respectively, which are F2P.
    • Free players would be allowed to upgrade the equipment to tier 50, as lesser ensouled materials support upgrading to tier 50.
  • Rune Mythos - Wouldn't require going into members territory either.
    • Free players could be allowed to make Spirit Runes, Bone Runes, and Flesh Runes. Miasma Runes might remain members due to it needing 60 Runecrafting.
  • Necromancy Incantations
    • City of Um Teleport
    • Lesser Bone Shield
    • Threads of Fate
    • Greater Bone Shield
  • Higher Tier Necromancy Equipment - All tiers up to and including tier 55.
    • In Daemonheim, free players could then make up to level 50 and equip up to level 60.

This isn't the first time as Fletching was originally a member skill converted to a free skill.
