Canada rarely gets to play itself; these games are changing that

Here is a list of the games that have Canadian refs (including my game Capy Castaway, which has a bunch of Toronto easter eggs):

  • The Long Dark
  • North Shore
  • Venba
  • 1000xResist
  • Two Falls (Nishu Takuatshina)
  • Métis Life
  • Akiiwan: Relaxing Survival
  • Celeste
  • Tails Noir
  • Tails Noir Preludes
  • Été
  • Loser Lane
  • Echo Generation
  • Echo Generation 2
  • Scott Pilgrim EX
  • Capy Castaway
  • Retroronto
  • RollerGirl
  • The Crimson Diamond
  • The Caribou Trail
  • Button Man
  • Clarevoyance
  • Crosscountry Canada
  • Dawn of the Monsters
  • Kona
  • Kona II: Brume
  • Mass Effect 3
  • Open Roads
  • Rainbow Six Siege
  • A Short Hike
  • Soma

Have yall played any of these games? There's a LOT more of them using Toronto as a backdrop than I expected!

Is there any benefit to shadow dropping your indie game instead of a public release date?

Obviously, other than like Silksong, I can't think of a lot of indies (of any size) with any success or real benefit to not announcing their launch date and just shadow dropping the game whenever they want.
Just curious if there are any cases in which this would be beneficial?
