Allas Pool, a year-round outdoor bathing complex planned for Tallinn’s Kalasadama district, has been granted a building permit. The complex is based on the Allas Pool concept created by Nordic Urban and established in the heart of Helsinki, where it draws around 800,000 visitors a year and ranks among the city’s most popular wellbeing and leisure destinations.
Note that this is only the border infrastructure. The Baltic defense line is in construction as well.
The incidents have been reported to UEFA and IFK Göteborg risks fines and other disciplinary sanctions. Any decisions may also have a direct impact on our supporters at future European matches.
Hello dear travel community
I want to go on a trip in Northern Europe for around 14 days during the summer time next year and I’m planning to travel only by train, bus & ferries in between my travel destinations and plan to stay in hotels with a good location because I use public transport and don’t want to drag my luggage for a long distance with me.
What do you think of my travel schedule and do you think I should include or remove something? Are my “bases” good/attractive for tourists? Any day trip suggestions from my “bases” that I can reach by public transport or maybe I can rent a car for a few hours/a day via Bolt Drive if better / necessary.
Do you think I will miss out on beautiful places in Finland by using public transportation only instead of renting a car?
I really enjoy nature, hiking, historic places, beautiful old towns, castles, cycling (on Aland?), a bit culture, museums (open-air museums especially), theme parcs.
I’d fly from Zurich to Estonia and back from Sweden to Zurich. Thank you very much for your feedback!
Tallinn (Estonia): 3 Nights
Tammisaari (Finland): 2 Nights (including a day trip to Hanko)
Turku (Finland): 3 Nights (including a day trip to Naantali)
Mariehamn (Åland Islands): 2 Nights
Stockholm (Sweden): 3 Nights
P.S. Just for your understanding, I’ve already been to Tallinn & Helsinki multiple times and I always enjoy visiting Tallinn a lot, there’s always something new to see with the ongoing gentrification of once dilapidated areas. This time I’d skip Helsinki because in my opinion from a tourists perspective, it doesn’t offer nearly as much as Tallinn. But I’m absolutely sure it’s a great city to live in and it’s a beautiful city as well. Please take no offense.
edit: After reading your feedback I removed 1 night in Åland, added 1 night in Turku

Petitsioon toetab Eesti lipu väljaku rajamist, kuid peab kavandatud asukohta liikluse keskel sobimatuks. Pakume rajada väljaku hoopis Maarjamäele, et luua väärikas, ligipääsetav ja tugeva sümboolse tähendusega avalik ruum, mis oleks nähtav nii merelt kui ka linnast.
On Tallinn’s fastest-developing seaside promenade in Noblessner, construction of the Nature House is progressing rapidly. Estonia’s largest wooden building is being built in Tallinn, in Kalamaja, right next to the Seaplane Harbour, and its main user will be the Estonian Museum of Natural History.

On Monday, June 22, the Estonian Air Defence Wing received the first mobile air defence missile systems IRIS-T SLM (InfraRed Imaging System Tail/Thrust vector-controlled Surface-Launched Medium range) at Ämari Air Base, giving the Estonian Defence Forces the ability to engage air threats from greater distances and altitudes than the existing short-range systems. The system was procured by the Estonian Centre for Defence Investments (ECDI) from the German defence company Diehl Defence.
I wasn't aware that the Ingrians still somehow exist.

It's honestly cool to see such a big project actually moving forward. Photo locations range from Tallinn to Pärnu county in the South.
As of the first quarter of 2026, 43% of the main line has funding secured, design finished and is ready for construction, according to Rail Baltica.
