Gas giant deep space salvage note
The good method of breaking off parts and collecting them after hulk meltdown has a quirk that may frustrate you in these systems. The gravitic pull of the giant will pull your parts towards it! I lost most of my last haul due to it quickly leaving scanner range.
I chased the cluster down over 2K and meticulously grabbed and launched it towards my corvette. Even boost pushing didn’t get the job done; by the time I had closed the distance from the farthest salvage to my ship, I saw all the pieces moving towards and past me.
So, take care salvaging in these systems. Oroginally I thought that maybe the meltdown detonation flung my parts wide out, but nope… all the loose parts were making a direct line for the giant. Hope this note helps someone out.
