We are at 95%..One more day should do it!

(Morgan Freeman Voice) And it was at this point. A certain President tried to order a Diet Coke, and hit the wrong button. The world ended shortly thereafter. Later civilizations xeno-archeologists would cite the greatest tragedy as the near completion of the Anomaly Super Weapon in the Simulation 'No Man's Sky'

Alright. Weavers, Sages, Royals. We're almost there. Despite everything, we all did a great work.

What will happen if i do the ps5 upgrade?

I’m using a ps4 NMS disc in my ps5, and i’ve never upgraded a ps4 game to ps5 before! Will I lose anything? Will it make my disc useless somehow? I’m just paranoid lol

About to Tarnish the record...

By the end of the week NMS may slide above Elden Ring in my most played Steam games. Never would've guessed that 10yrs ago. 🥳

Is there anything to gain from killing other players?

Just in the Swarm expedition, on an irradiated planet minding my own business, making my way to dig up stuff for the prismatic core, then some dingus pops out of nowhere and kills me no less than 3 times in a row:

Bam - respawn and run for the grave - bam - respawn and look around for the culprit - bam - respawn, jetpack away and reload previous save. Luckliy i still had an autosave from earlier. I had to switch it off after anyway so i can't tell you what planet, sorry folks.

Yes, I could have turned off pvp. Never had any run-ins like this, so naturally I never thought about it. I see other players, i make my character dance and goof about, as most other players I've met do. That's a wonderful communal thing and long may it live.

I don't kill players because this is not that game...

Is it that game for any of you? If so, what do you gain from being a cold blooded murderer?

Also, be careful out there folks!

NMS NPCs just aren't hitting the mark for me

https://youtu.be/y3YE4unTpqU?si=TaVRqTffPZOIxZy1

Sure they have free updates, and had a extraordinary bounce back from the early stages of NMS, unfortunately for this game to really put it in the high gear, we need to change a few things. NPC behavior is one of them. Why are they so dumb and have no "life" to their actions if any actions at all?

What sense is there to have a Pirate Raid occur, if there is no raid to be had? No on-foot pirates that actually take over the trade/terminal station(turning it into a pirate station)? No fighting back from any of the on-foot NPCs, Instead you get pilots that "Help" you defeat the pirates but literally do 0 damage to the pirates and just get in your way. This happens in more than 1 way.

  • Taking over Freighters are just as dull and lifeless...
  • Helping destroy or take over a Dreadnought is just as dull once you get inside the Dreadnought on-foot. No NPCs fighting back, everyone just standing around doing nothing but waving at you even though you killed their fleet and destroyed half the ship's turrets. Instead they wave at you or give you a thumbs up once you make it inside the cockpit/flight deck

There are absolutely no life in the NPCs in NMS, and it's sad. If there were NPCs that acted like how they do in Skyrim/Oblivion/GTA/Red Dead it would take this game to the next level. Right now, it's just dog fights with lackluster "on-foot" combat vs the same NPCs. What is the point to min max and buy new upgrades and multi-tools just to insta gib the same mobs. Even on max difficulty/hardcore gameplay- it's too easy with all things considered.

I want to go to a planet/trade stations/random buildings where you see more on-foot things occurring. Pirates that actually land their ship, get out and FIGHT with guns/melee. Random NPCs that just show up on foot next to you or on your planet where they are moving around and mining something or scanning around looking for life. NPCs that walk into a trade station and go to the terminal. or NPCs that can actively take over a building or station of any kind with odds of winning or losing in the scenarios given.

If they don't fix this, it would leave me to believe that LNF will be very similar. Clunky lifeless NPCs that don't have any form of decent ai to give them a goal or mission or to be unique. NMS is an amazing game for what it is but there are so many things that leave you thinking this game should in fact have good on-foot combat mechanics seeing how the upgrading of multi-tools is a key factor to the game's mechanics. Let's go Sean! I know it can be done. These NPCs are Stiff, and lifeless with no unique qualities that don't do anything cool.

I find it very un-immersive when I'm fighting a Dreadnought and destroy their entire fleet and turrets and boosters just to get greeted by the captain of the ship, holding a clipboard giving me a thumbs up.... after all that? no hostility? The inside of the dreadnought should be filled with NPCs trying to take my head off or escape with their lives. not giving me a warm welcome with a wave and thumbs up while holding a clipboard or staring at a wall.

My only gripe with NMS is that, and how race tracks don't work on multiplayer coupled with the terrain manipulator causing weird glitches to happen on multiplayer/desync.
So Desync and NPC functions.

I was given the void egg out of the blue

I was escaping from the chaos of Sentinels into the space, sentinel planes were summoned, so I could not fight more anymore, so I called Space Anomaly to make my escape. Once I landed into, I saw the message that I was given the void egg from vax. Hmm.... oh okay. I selected one of main missions and wrapped to space station then exit to the space and suddenly living thing show up and follow this to next system and ended up in the middle of pirates attacking freighter, so I cleared them out and got reward then continue to the targeted planet. I was asked to craft something, but right now I am led to the source I need to collect. Hold on that mission until tomorrow

Found this ship. Seems rare?

I was in one of the stations I frequent and saw this white and gold ship. Went up to it and it said it was S-Class and I had enough units to buy it so I did. Looks pretty sweet but idk anything about it.

Can someone tell me about what I got?

Has anyone had any encounters like this? I’m looking for this wolf-like animal. Someone posted it in a Facebook group, but it’s been 3 days and the guy still haven’t replied to anyone asking for the coordinates. Maybe someone else has seen something similar?

Is it worth to make a base ?

Hey guys I am playing through the game on a new save and my question is, besides decoration and building for the sake of building, is there any incentive to make bases on planets anymore, we got the freighters, we got the corvettes, these two are essentially mobile bases, and I just wanna know if it is worth it to make ground bases anymore since we have plenty of mobile base options, like what isnthe incentive ?

Communication Stations-Is this going to be a thing throughout the universe?

It seems like the desire to leave a permanent mark of "I was here" is quite deeply human. This is the portal in one of the systems near the galactic core of the 12th galaxy and till now this has been the pattern for any portal near the core of any of the previous galaxies I have visited.

I don't really mind the clutter of communication stations near such hubs but when I got out of this portal, one of the communication stations bonked the head of my character, which was amusing and all but then I thought whether this is going to be a pattern till the last galaxy.

I am on a journey to travel to the last galaxy, in order, and I can already imagine how cluttered the last galactic portal might be, with it being the last galaxy.

Which weapons are you guys using on your ships?

I have started experimenting with the ship weapons again after running infra knife only for the longest time. Phase beam seems pretty good as a support weapon and the shotgun makes it stupidly easy to hit the swarmer ships but the rocket launcher seems a bit unwieldy and I haven't tested the cyclotron much yet.
