Allies Rules Question(s)

I’ve started building my first model (Cerastus Knight Lancer). While working on him my mind is wandering to what other models I might like to build.

I’m trying to keep my first to a 1000 point Incursion- I’ve been reading up on Imperial Agents as allies. I see I can take 1 Retinue, 1 Character, and 1 Requisitioned unit. What I am unclear on are Dedicated Transports.

Example

1 Requisitioned Unit - Sisters of Battle Squad

Could I take a Sisters of Battle Immolator or an Imperial Rhino? They are listed as Imperial Agent units, but I don’t see any keyword like Retinue, Character, or Requisitioned.

No assumption it would be *good* if I could, but don’t know if those vehicles are allowed in the first place as allied units.

Lancer Legs for your consideration

Forgepact: Can Tech Priests keep up with Melee Knights?

As the title: I’m getting into the hobby and starting with a Cerastus Lancer. Been workshopping a Chaos Knight army and for the sake of informed decisions wanted to see how an Imperial Knights army would look.

I like the Admech boys, the Forgepact would be how I would field this army. The healing is what appeals to me, but the good healing from a Tech Priest has to be within 3 inches. Seems like a tech priest would never be able to keep pace with a Lancer move wise and would be better used on healing Armigers or other units.

Is this the case in practice? I don’t know the rules super well yet, so I may be missing some interaction.

New to the Game - Lancer or Rampager for Warlord?

Hello - I have decided to get into the hobby. After reading and watching some battle reports, I have settled on the Chaos Knights for their lower model counts and sick design. I like the savagery and Battleshock seems fun to play with.

I want to run with the Houndpack Lance as my detachment because the little wolf skulls on the Karnivores stole my heart. I wanted to try for a melee focused army at around 1000 points with a big centerpiece robot and War Dogs for the rest.

I thought the Rampager was my choice for its melee stats and the claw looks like it would do some serious work and just went to go see if my local shop had any and they did - but that’s when I saw it. The Cerastus Knight Lancer.

From my googling and the New Recruit app it absolutely appears this is a possible choice for a Chaos Knights army and in writing this I think I’ve already decided to go with the Lancer over the Rampager - but I wanted to throw it out to the community and see if anyone had any two cents they wanted to share on it.

Its less melee versatility and potency but more staying power, that’s fine. I can try to get a better blend of War Dogs to add more versatility.

Any kind CK players have any wisdom to share for a newbie toying over his first purchase and the army comp I’ve loosely gone with?
