Really happy with how this turned out. I got to play with a lot of new paints and materials for the first time painting this Cerastus Knight Castigator. What do you think? It took a little over 8 hours to paint.
Hey guys.
Been wanting to get into Ck for a while now, and my LGS still has a copy of the houndpack lance battleforce. Is it good for a beginner?
Finally all done and ready for combat patrol.
Was basing this knight on NueHues knight and I felt I got the rust pretty good. In dry brushing nmm, I wanted to go from Mechanicum grey to Fenrisian Grey as I thought that would give me a good blue hue to the steel. It looks a tad bit too blue for me, unless I’m crazy, and wanted some feed back on how I could make it look more like steel. My first thought was to blend up from Fenrisian Grey to either Administratun grey or grey seer. Thoughts?
Im tooling around with a titan list, this is also my first ever game with my chaos knights so im looking for a detachment that would benefit the most.
This is what I got so far-
Char1: 1x Knight Ruinator (355 pts): Darkflame lance, Fellbore, Terrorpulse missiles
1x War Dog Brigand (140 pts): Armoured feet, Avenger chaincannon, Daemonbreath spear, Havoc multi-launcher
1x War Dog Karnivore (150 pts): Reaper chaintalon, Slaughterclaw, Havoc multi-launcher
1x War Dog Moirax (150 pts): Armoured feet, Rad cleanser, Siege claw, Volkite veuglaire
1x War Dog Stalker (140 pts): Diabolus heavy stubber, Avenger chaincannon, Slaughterclaw
1x Warhound Titan (1100 pts): Warhound feet, 2x Warhound turbo-laser destructor
I can swap the ruinator out for a rampager but not a lot of choices besides that :/ also dw my opponent is cool with the points spill
Heya folks, I’m working on my first converted chaos knight, a Lancer. I really want to add scratches, chips, and gouges to the armor to make him look like he’s REALLY been through the wringer. He’s a knight that’s never had its armor changed since the heresy, so he still has the Eye of Horus on him. I want to add multiple different kinds of scratches and wear, to not make it look like they’re all done by the same weapon. How do you guys do it? Any tips would be much appreciated!
(I’m not done adding chaos-y stuff to his armor, I just want to get the battle damage out of the way before adding more stuff)
WIP of a weapon kitbash for my chaos knights. I used a Warpstrike claw as the base and replaced the fingers with autocannons (+ additional autocannons on top).
I'm thinking about using it as proxy for a Gatling canon.
Give me your best grimdark name ideas!
You asked for em here they are! The rest of my full chaos knights force!
Sergeant snuggles leading the spear! I have a few named wardogs in here too.
Lurch, Blubber & Blother, Mystery and Midnight.
Really happy with how this guy is turning out. Not confident enough to do osl on the rear radiator thing but the glow effect is enough I think.
Building my first big knight (despoiler), and before I glue to the base I'd like some inspiration, please show me your big knight bases!
Also, I have this kromlech Gatling proxy arm so I can dual wield them - can I get away with just using the normal arm, and magnetising the weapon bit / shield? Or should I just magnetise the whole arm for that one weapon, and then magnetise the whole arm AND weapon parts for the original sprue? Thanks!
Well, it does have AdMech adjacent flavor, so...
Don't get me wrong, I love my knights, but I'm getting tired of us getting slightly worse rules than IK.
I know the rules previews aren't the entirety of what we'll be getting, I just feel like we've been stagnant since tenth dropped.
All in all, I'm excited to see how our army gets shaken up in eleventh, but I can't help but feel a little pessimistic about it.
WIP because I will be getting a ruinator kit later this year to add some more chaosy bits before I complete the painting.
The Warkitten Stalker of House Mardukar.
Magnetized this and am wondering if I can use this in play?
It was prime everything, tons of gunmetal onto the frame, airbrush beige and red into the plates. Used sponge to highlight the plates, then sponged on damage and dings. Varnish everything, then did decals and added more damage on top, then varnish. Then oil washes all over and one more varnish to finish it, which of course is when you find about 12 details you didn’t paint. So one more go round with touchups then a fuckload of glue and green stuff to get the arms stuck in, and fini!
