Why not Canon?? Is Canon underrated or Sony and Nikon overrated??

Why mostly canon is underrated when it comes to Camera's mostly people in my circle prefers Sony or Nikon, very very few are leaning towards canon. I own a Nikon DSLR looking for a upgrade(wildlife) mostly people suggesting Nikon or Sony. Why is that but when I comparing Models canon also great competitor but it doesn't looks like that from the outside what might be the reason ?

Anyone else feel guilty investing in their passion when their family struggles financially?

I’m the first double-degree graduate in my family, and I work in wildlife fieldwork/content creation. The problem is that this field doesn’t pay very high, especially in the beginning.

I come from a lower middle-class family with a lot of debt and no major assets or property. Even then, my parents always supported my interests. I currently use a Nikon D5600 and an Insta360 X3 for wildlife and touring content. I also have a bike for traveling and fieldwork. Most of these things were bought with a mix of my money and my family’s support.

Now I’m at a stage where I genuinely need better gear if I want to improve my content quality — especially a better telephoto lens, maybe a camera body upgrade, and another action camera for moto/travel content.

People around me (even my parents) compare my videos/photos to the high-quality wildlife content they see on Instagram and ask why mine don’t look that sharp or cinematic. And honestly, I know the answer: better lenses, better bodies, more capable gear. Wildlife photography especially is extremely gear-dependent.

The thing is, I had planned to slowly buy everything myself through salary and side work. I already give around 60% of my salary to my parents and household expenses, and I’ve done many part-time jobs to support myself.

Recently, my parents told me:
“If this equipment will help your work and content, we’ll somehow arrange it through EMI.”

Instead of feeling happy, I suddenly felt guilty.

Now I keep thinking:
“Am I becoming a burden?”
“Am I being selfish for wanting expensive gear when we already have financial pressure?”
“Am I even worth this investment?”

What confuses me is that logically I know these upgrades would genuinely help my wildlife and travel content. But emotionally, I feel awkward accepting that support from my family when I know our financial condition.

Did anyone else from a financially struggling family feel this kind of guilt while chasing a passion/career that needed expensive equipment?

How did you deal with this feeling without giving up on your goals?

My first Drone - Dji neo 2 or Lito x1

I’m confused between the Neo 2 and the Lito X1 for my first drone purchase.

I’m leaning more toward the Neo 2 because it fits my budget, has omnidirectional obstacle avoidance, and seems easier for beginners to use. My only major concern is the battery backup.

On the other hand, the Lito X1 seems stronger in battery life and camera sensor quality, but I’m unsure about how good its subject tracking and obstacle avoidance actually are in real-world use.

One of the main reasons I’m buying a drone is for solo bike rides and trekking videos. I usually travel alone, so I need reliable subject tracking and obstacle avoidance to get third-person POV shots of myself safely and smoothly.

also the lito x1 controller comes with screen,

SO as of my needs which one should I prefer, or is there any other model I can go for my first drone purchase

Purpose : third-person POV shots of myself

Country : India

Budget : 70000 INR (700USD)

DSLR or Mirrorless

is buying DSLR in 2026 still worth it?

Current Camera: Nikon D5600, 70-300mm

Photography: Wildlife and Birds

Photo and Video

Country : India

Confusion between mirrorless and DSLR for my next upgrade

Currently I am planning to buy 200-500mm f5.6 Tele lens. There are few used DSLR like D800 are available cheap here around 70,000 - 80,000 INR. But my question is will DSLR worth in 2026.

if I bought the Nikon 500mm, f5.6 and buying used DSLR in 2026 a good idea or Should I focus Mirrorless ones.?

Reason for Body Upgrade : to get better autofocus, Better Image clarity for Cropping, A few more FPS. That's it.

Dji action 4 or Action 5, Action camera

I'm thinking of buying an dji action 5. But I am having a confusion between action 4 and action 5.

Reason I prefer action 5:

- internal storage

- extra battery life

- mic connectivity

Reason I prefer action 4:

- much cheaper than action 5

- same sensor

I already have an insta 360 onex3 but since it's 360 camera it consumes a lot of storage and time. That's why I'm planning to buy dji is it good to buy an action 5 or just sticking with action 4 makes sense. Kindly suggest me.
