I’m very new to DIY and I’m at a loss. I’ve cut the quadrant trim with a mitre box. When they are laying flat they meet perfectly but when I put them around the edges of the box they don’t meet as they are more slanted and don’t lay flat. Is there anything I can do to make them fit better? Or do I just call it a day and fill the gaps? TIA

I live in an old maisonette and I have a lot of wires around doors and skirting, the rest I have pulled out as they weren’t connected to anything. This one disappears in the door trim and the ceiling. I’m wanting to redo the trim so need to remove it but I’ve never seen a wire like this before. Does anyone know what it is and if it’s important. If it is important then how do I go about redoing my door trim? TIA
