Hegseth angry as Army scraps new SAT minimum to screen out ‘stupid’ officers

The irony is so thick here, I don’t think they get it.

Trump 'salting the earth' with loopholes big enough for a 'cocaine-packed' truck: analyst

This is so gross, but not surprising. He made sure all the laws are favoring fraudsters.

I previously posted, asking about getting even amounts.

Not too bad for eyeballing it. The fancy design from the 3D Printer makes it easier to see exactly how full they are. I’m going to use what’s left to learn Andean plying.

How do you organize your spinning? Especially for plotting?

I’m hoping that somebody out there is haphazard as I am and can you tell me how they tamed their wool. I am trying to get even bobbins for plying. I tried weighing the yarn and separating it that way, but I still had more on one bobbin than the other two and I’m scratching my head on that one. Then the next batch somehow I mixed up the bags and just ended up having to eyeball it. Now I’m trying to switch bobbins every time I start a new bat and hopefully the bats are all similar enough. Let me know what tips and tricks you have learned to keep your brain on task and your wool separated. I’m thinking about buying calipers and making sure they all have the same diameter. I game a wooly winder so the bobbins are beautifully even.

I feel the effort the iPhone team puts into the animations of the weather app are under appreciated

It’s raining, and the app has it looking like rain is running down the glass of the phone. They are always updating and refining the graphics.

What to do with a wheel no one wants?

I used to demo on this wheel, but I don’t do that any more. Any idea where would be the best place for it? I called a local museum.

How do you spin your yarn and sweaters?

I used to put them in a mesh bag and spin them, but my shoulders can’t take that any more. I could spin them in the washer, but I hate the idea of using all that water and electricity. I feel like rolling them in towels doesn’t do enough. I feel like there has to be a creative way to do this trust I’m just not thinking of.

I’m so happy with my new Nano

I can’t remember which post inspired me to get the EEW Nano but I am so happy. I was never sure if an electric spinner was for me because I’ve had a wheel for years. The Nano was the right price point to try something new. The yarn I made with it is some of the best yarn I’ve ever made and it was with really crappy fleece. I’m sold and may ask for a larger one for the next holiday.

This is my no lawn project

I still have a bit of lawn, but it doesn’t even use a whole charge to do it.

The Titans of industry are expecting AI to rule the world, but they can’t even do talk to text competently.

I am so sick of random periods and the rule about which your or two to use being broken by a machine. That is supposed to know what it’s doing. I don’t think there’s a time I ever do talk to text and I don’t have to fix a dozen things.

The buckles holding my dog’s car seat broke. The strap is 1.25”

I could buy another but it won’t get here in time. The strap just goes around the head rest. I can’t think of a way to attach them to each other. I could tie them, but they are a bit short so it wouldn’t be very secure. The head rest isn’t adjustable.

Any clever ideas? I’m not looking for replacement buckles, I’m looking for a fix so I can leave tomorrow.

Help! I bought a food scale from a big box store. It isn’t accurate. I don’t want to spend 100’s of dollars. What do you use?

I got the bright idea to separate the wool into equal amounts for the number of plies. The first time it worked ok. Now I have two more batches and I get ridiculous weights, so I know it’s not working. I did zero it out with the bowl that will hold the wool.

Question for e-spinners: How do you sit in relation to the orifice?

I have an Ashford Little gem, and I find myself twisting my body so that I am more at a right angle, rather than facing the orifice. It seems a better way to get a good draw. Since I have to pedal, I can’t go totally on an angle.

Since you don’t have to pedal, do find yourself facing the machine out to the side of it?
