Best approach for window well area

Our window well situation has been a mess we've been meaning to tackle and it rained a good bit so we started digging out all the mud inside. Still have more to dig, but kind of wondering about the concrete slab thats nearby (its the base for our pool equipment).

Do we want to insert some landscape edging or something in between the concrete and the well? Or will it be fine once we replace the well with a new one?

Dr added Guanfacine

Our child will be 7 this month. Last year was very hard for him behaviorally, but by the end of the year, we put in a lot of IEP mods, added more therapy, and started him on Adderall. Theres been a huge difference with the meds, especially at school; it was night and day. Still struggled when he got home, but learned that was pretty common and to be expected.

For the past month or so, he's been struggling more however. Still doing perfectly at school though thankfully. At home, it was as if he had no medicine left in his system at all, and he was more aggressive, leading to punching and kicking me when he didnt get his way. I was growing so defeated, and I finally was able to discuss this at my son's psych appt today. She decided to add Guanfacine, in hopes that it will calm the after school collapse some. Will continue taking the 15mg XR adderall.

I feel like I've seen this protocol being followed a lot, but never looked into the effects of it. For those with kids on this combo, did it help?

Clean or adjust first?

Just opened the pool and it looks a little horrible of course. The water itself is clear so thats good. Just want to make sure I am efficient about this as its just too hot to spend forever outside (93 F @ 9am 🫠)

Do I want to adjust beforehand? Will that help speed up the cleaning? For context, pool guy did add a jug of chlorine when opening.

We have a DE filter for reference

Can I really not add certain foods

I've been interested in composting, but it never seemed feasible previously. Well, the house we bought came with a big ol' compost bin in great condition and I finally want to give it a go.

Unfortunately, I am someone that has a hard time keeping up with something that has a checklist. So when I read that you cant compost meat, fish, bones, dairy, and oily foods, I grew a little hesitant.

Is there a way to add these to the pile? Or do I really have to avoid them altogether? I want composting to be a success 😬

ETA it is an older model Miracle Gro Biostack so it has a heavy lid.

ETA #2 - After some of the comments here, I did some researching on Bokashi and I think I may try that method and add it to my compost when finished! So any tips for that would be great as well!

Are Eastern Tents really that bad?

My son found what I figured was an Eastern tent on his walk home from school on Friday and kept it in a habitat where it is now cacooning. Today, he found another one on our tire and brought it in with him to my aunt/uncle in law's house. Upon seeing the catepillar, the uncle flips out, saying it's a gypsy moth and instructs my 8 year old to burn the one cacooning so it doesn't emerge. Another relative steps in and starts calling them an invasive species - which in my head sounds odd seeing as eastern tents are native I thought?

So now I'm confused as I am not an expert, but is this an Eastern tent or not? And if so, are they really that destructive?

We are located in SE Pennsylvania

Son made a bet he couldnt honor

My oldest son (just turned 8) asks me for 50 bucks. Apparently he made a bet with a classmate over them racing and my son lost. We had a talk about why he cant bet money he doesnt have of course, and I added that being able to keep your word is something to strive for.

I asked him what he thinks he should do to pay back his classmate - I suggested doing the classmate a favor every day for 50 days (but IDK what would even entail at this age so...). My son offered up one of his Dog man books that he received as Christmas/birthday gifts (he's obsessed with the series).

Do I let him give a book or is that not good enough? Any other ideas?
