Police jurisdictions and speeding tickets. I have a friend that will speed right by police officers on the interstate if he recognizes that the police car is not in its home jurisdiction. He has never been pulled over by any of these officers. He believes it’s because they don’t have jurisdiction and can’t do anything. I say it’s more likely that they are heading home after shift or en route on other business that is more important than someone passing them going 8-9 over the speed limit on the interstate.
Example the police car is marked Alpha county and he is in Bravo county. I understand the answers will vary widely based on location so please share how this works in the locality in which you practice. Our location is Colorado. Much appreciated!
