The flute in the beginning of “Prophecy at 1420MHz” was soo cool. Never thought I’d say that a BOC track hits that sweet spot between creepiness and beauty better than Gyroscope.
Really stoked for the other tracks!!

I read through the titles of the new album and tried to understand what they could mean. I got particularly interested in the last track “I Saw Through Platonia”, which I haven’t seen being discussed as of now.

Platonia can mean several things according to Wikipedia, from a plant genus to a title for a romanian novel or even a place under a basilica in Rome.

But the one I feel makes the most sense was a concept presented by Julian Barbour (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julian_Barbour?wprov=sfti1#), a (theoretical) physicist leaning into philosophy. Platonia can be defined as follows:

Platonia is the infinite, timeless landscape of every physically possible configuration of the universe — each one a complete, frozen snapshot Barbour calls a “Now.”. This is not a place in space, but a mathematical structure: an eternal catalog of every conceivable arrangement of matter, energy, fields, and constants. Each point in Platonia is a static “moment” — not a moment in time, but a moment as time. (from https://hackmd.io/@EriolElwin/H1AfIiaoll)

So my theory is that the brothers’ title “I Saw Through Platonia” means they saw through every conceivable arrangement of the universe and reached some sort of enlightenment, possibly hinting at a final piece, a last note before everything goes dark.

I just thought it would be interesting to discuss the titles even though we haven’t heard the music yet to decipher the message the album wants to share with us.

Thanks for reading and happy waiting!
