Cardio or strength training for fat loss
I see trainers bashing people doing cardio that it doesn't help fat loss but I haven't seen overweight runners. I was running 50k a week but compromised strength training. I didn't gain weight so it makes me confused that which form of exercise gives better results. I will be doing both now and will cut down on my running but just curious to know which one is better
Massive hair loss on keto
It has been seven months on keto and I already have adrogenic alopecia. My iron, thyroid is fine and I use minoxidil and have multivitamins too. My protein intake is very high. My carbs intake is max 30g. My hair loss is worsening. Not sure if its to do with the fact that I am having such minimal carbs and I strength train five days a week and run 25km a week
Drinking electrolytes on long runs
After how many kms should you drink electrolytes on keto. I drank after 4k and choked today. Last I drank after 7k was fine but kind of confused when to drink. Ideally I wish I can sustain myself without drinking till 10k
Is running good for bipolar 1 specifically to control mania
I feel so damn exhausted running 14k runs twice a week and preparing for marathon that I am not sure its helping my bipolar or is being counterproductive. Yesterday I cried out of exhaustion so I felt its definitely not getting me hyper active or excited so maybe it is helping mania. I don't feel irritated either but just yesterday was one of those days where I felt, I wish I didn't have to choose running to feel like an achiever coz personally and professionally I live a very ordinary life so running gives me the confidence that I am in the 1% of the population and this time not coz of my illness but something positive
Managing bipolar, work, running and fitness together has made me overwhelmed
I don't know how people manage it but my life revolves around taking care of my health and fitness. It's a constant job in and of itself. I am on keto which has helped me tremendously but constantly making home made meals and supplements including electrolytes is exhausting. I have a 9 to 5 job and I have started training for marathon. Taking care of my sleep, skincare and diet is just so so exhausting. I wanted a purpose in life so I picked up fitness related goal but I am getting tired and wish I could take a break and just not worry that I can't afford to be off ketosis or not train or not take supplements. I strength train too and go to gym six days a week. Just having creatine, collagen, B12, iron, omega 3, vitamin D, protein powder...my expenses on fitness and diet are just too much but they are better than giving all this money to the hospital by being hospitalised which I have been five times. I have remained episode free for 1.5 years and doing really great ever since I started keto but man my life is difficult
Training for my first in Jan 2027 on keyo
Hi everyone, I have bipolar disorder and I have seen tremendous results from keto diet. It has almost put me in remission since two years. I did half marathon keto and the only time I had carbs was during the race which was two dates and two snickers bars. I can't afford to be off ketosis but at the same time my training includes long 15k runs. Everyone so far has suggested that I will injure myself on keto and can't run a marathon. My question is that what's the maximum distance I can cover without carbs.
PS: It's my dream to run a marathon 🥹
