Who decides our dates?
More of a vent but who in the Victorian DET comes up with these terms dates, holidays and schedules?
For example, isn't it better if
- a school year to consist of 38 weeks rather than the current 40/41 weeks?
- the last term to be the shortest since both students and teachers are burnt out?
- the last term to end approximately two weeks before Christmas so that it gives time for teachers or families to prepare for Christmas and/or travel interstate or internationally to see their other families ?
- the term 3 holidays to end a few days or a week after Daylight Savings begin to give time for our bodies to adjust?
- the teacher salary progression was at the start of the year rather than in May?
