I got this horsehide leather jacket recently which I love. It's a replacement for an old leather jacket which was quite tight around the chest (I could barely zip it up), and so I sized up when I got this one. Although I'd expect it to fit me relatively well, it's not the most comfortable. It's quite rigid (?), especially in the arms and shoulders.

Is there a breaking in process with this type of leather? How long does it take for it to be more comfy? My previous jacket was very comfortable in the arms, just not the chest, even though it was a whole size down. For further reference, that one was japanese S (lamb leather), and this is a japanese M.

I'd appreciate any suggestions or pointers as this is uncharted territory for me. Thanks!
