Third wave Cafe Coffee

Third wave Cafe Coffee

I've heard that it has gone bad in previous years, last time i tried was in 2022 and it was okayish

Here I am sitting in another third wave cafe because it was the nearest and i didn't have much time to spare.

They are running B1G1 on Wednesdays, unfortunately i couldn't have two. So ordered one cappuccino (no info about the beans or roast profile) I assume it is their El Bueno blend (I never tried their coffee beans)

First Impressions: Where's my Latte Art? I only see a white circle on the side.

Milk texture is just ok, but it is too hot to drink.

I let it cool down a bit and have my first sip, wtf is this.

They charged ~255 for a regular cappuccino and all i could taste is stale burnt liquid which has bitter coffee flavour.

What happened to third wave, it used to be good back till 2022 last time i tried. and it is not even recognisable now, Are they still a roastery or just a hype cafe with a brand now.

I'm glad i never spent any money on their beans I saw a few post about them sending low quality or stale coffee beans (6 months) or even missing a roasting date

Slowly this review is turning into a rant, but that's just how their coffee is

yet it is fillet with many people on a weekday afternoon

Maybe i just had a bad exception, How are your experience with them lately?

Grey Soul Cafe Coffee

After hearing about many suggestions about Grey soul beans i thought of trying out their coffee first hand i.e in one of their Cafe

Ordered Cappuccino, house blend (medium roast, Chikmagalur)

First impressions were nice, fancy cup, but I think it was extremely hot, which might not be a good experience as i was not able to even hold their cups, it is one of those ceramic ones which doesn't have a handle

I asked the Barista, and his reasoning was because they have to create lot of foam for Cappuccino the milk would be steamed longer as compared to a latte, hence it was that hot

First sip felt too sharp, not able to understand any flavour, so i let it cool down for a good amount of time to make it drinkable, and i could get some sweet flavours but the taste profile still felt thin and sharp not fruity or acidic, characteristics mentioned heavy body but couldn't relate

I'm writing this review while having it, and now I'm at the final parts where there is almost no foam left and it is more like a flar white, it still feels too hot for me

As it cools down further i could taste roasted peanut like flavour, however the milk is completely flat, and no mousy like texture that you would get when the foam is not completely separated,

I'm trying to find that deep sweetness trom ripe red berries mentioned in the sensory evaluation from their info card, but I'm trying too hard.

while taking the last sip before I get their roastery tour, Now I feel their beans might be too expensive and mostly just spending on their marketing at around 1,000rs / 250g (800rs for 200g)

I'll skip buying.
