High API Costs and Slow Speeds When Coding with AI (Tips Needed!)

Hi everyone,

I'm completely new to generating code with AI, and I actually have zero coding knowledge. I've been trying to build a project using Kimi 2.6, but I've run into a massive issue: with every single request, it reads my entire project from scratch. It is incredibly slow, and it's absolutely draining my wallet due to the massive token usage.

I'd love to get some advice from the experienced folks here:

  • Optimizing Kimi 2.6: Are there any specific tricks, prompt constraints, or workflows to stop it from re-reading everything every time?
  • Alternative Models: If Kimi isn't the best fit for this, which alternative models offer similar coding performance but handle project context much cheaper or more efficiently?

I'd really appreciate any advice or tactics you can share to help me speed things up without going broke. Thanks in advance!

Confused about ECI rules for foreign-owned single member LLC selling on Etsy

Hey everyone, hoping to get some clarity here because my CPA only responds during tax season and won't answer my follow-up questions.

My situation:

- I'm a Turkish resident, never lived in or visited the US

- I own a Wyoming single-member LLC (registered through a registered agent service)

- In 2025, I earned $5,032 total: $1,684 from Etsy (digital products) and $4,647 from freelancer

- My CPA filed a 1040-NR and told me I owe $413 in federal taxes

- I paid it, but now I'm questioning whether I should have

What I've read:

Everywhere online says non-US residents with a single-member LLC don't owe US taxes unless they have "Effectively Connected Income" (ECI) meaning income tied to a US trade or business with a physical presence in the US.

I have:

- No US office

- No US employees

- No physical presence in the US whatsoever

- All work done remotely from Turkey

My concern:

My CPA classified my income as ECI on the 1040-NR, seemingly because Etsy and freelancer are US-based platforms. But is using a US platform enough to create ECI? I thought ECI required actual physical presence or dependent agents in the US.

Specific questions:

  1. Does selling digital products through Etsy (a US marketplace) automatically create ECI for a non-resident?
  2. Same question for freelancer income
  3. Should I file an amended return to get the $413 back?
  4. Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Also any recommendations for a CPA who specializes in non-resident/foreign-owned LLC taxation and actually responds to questions year-round? My current one goes silent after April.

Thanks in advance.

Duplicating Etsy drafts of Printify Multi-Product listings breaks the sync?

Hi everyone,

Sorry if this is a silly question, I am completely new to POD and Etsy!

I created a Multi-Product listing on Printify (combining 8 different items) and synced it to Etsy as a draft. To save time on settings, I duplicated/copied that draft inside Etsy to use it as a template for a new design.

However, the changes and new mockups I made on the copied Etsy listing are not syncing back to Printify at all.

What is the correct way to replicate these multi-product listings without losing the Printify sync?

Thank you.

Is anyone actually making decent money with Gen-AI stock portfolios? Also, why is the AI search filter so broken?

Hey everyone,

I currently sell digital assets on Etsy and I'm looking to expand into Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, iStock, and Freepik for passive income. Are purely Gen-AI portfolios still generating consistent downloads for you? Which platform pays the best right now?

Also, I noticed something weird while doing market research:

When I search for a technical niche like "Flame Effect Vectors", the regular search shows 1,000+ highly relevant designs. But the moment I check the "AI Generated Only" filter, the results collapse to just 5 or 6 completely irrelevant images.

Why is this happening?

Unexpectedly high token cost using Kimi API via OpenCode (Expected: $1/1M, Actual: ~$20/1M). What am I doing wrong?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently using the Kimi API via OpenCode (v1.16.2) in my command line for a web toolkit project I'm developing. According to the official pricing, it should be around $1 per 1 million tokens.

However, as you can see in my terminal session, I've spent $2.54 for a context of just 125,903 tokens. If my math is right, this translates to roughly $20 per 1 million tokens, which is a massive discrepancy.

Has anyone experienced this? Am I using a much more expensive default model (like a 200k context version instead of 8k/32k), or is there a hidden multiplier/markup when using Kimi through OpenCode?

Any help to optimize these costs would be greatly appreciated!

This is the first time in my life I’ve connected an API and written code for a website. I have no experience at all.

Stuck in Etsy Support Loop After DMCA Counter-Notice (19 Days) – How long does the Legal Team take to reply?

Hi everyone,

I previously made a post about my situation here: https://www.reddit.com/r/EtsySellers/comments/1t4g1ez/comment/ok3t24w/

It has been 19 days since I filed a DMCA counter-notice (on May 5th). The 10-business-day waiting period has completely passed, and no legal action was taken by the complainant. However, because I completely deleted the listing from my shop to protect my store before the process finished, Etsy's automated system seems to be glitched and hasn't sent me the official clearance email.

I've been trying to get a human review to confirm my account status is clear so I can safely recreate the listing. So far, I have sent 2 emails (about a week ago, but only received automated bot responses) and had 2 live chat sessions (2 days apart).

For those who had their cases escalated to the Legal/Specialist team, how long does it usually take for them to get back to you via email? I'm getting anxious about the silence and lack of communication.

Any advice or insights would be highly appreciated!

Brief summary of my live chats:

  • Agent A (First Chat): Confirmed they understood the issue, escalated my request to the Legal team for a manual review, and told me they would reach out via email shortly.
  • Agent B (Second Chat, 2 days later): Checked the listing ID, confirmed it was removed, stated it would be better handled by a specialist, escalated it again, and immediately closed the chat.

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some advice or experiences regarding a DMCA situation. I have a product in a common niche that I spent weeks designing from scratch. It recently became a "Best Seller" and started competing directly with a long-time seller in that niche.

This competitor just filed a DMCA takedown against me. However, there are a few red flags:

  1. The notice says the copyright is "Unregistered" and the only "proof" they provided was a Google Drive link with some images.
  2. According to eRank, this seller is based in India, but their Etsy shop location is set to the USA.
  3. Their shop isn’t very large (around $15k-$20k total revenue over 2 years), yet they are trying to gatekeep a generic concept that many others have made before.

I’ve already filed a formal counter-notice because I am 100% sure my work is original and not a copy of their files.

My question is: Given that they are likely international, have a low-revenue shop, and no official copyright registration, how likely is it that they will actually try to file a lawsuit in the next 10-14 days? Has anyone dealt with this kind of "bullying" from competitors once you hit Best Seller status?

I'm not looking for legal advice, just trying to see if this is a common scare tactic. Thanks!

My sales dropped after I spoke with customer service?

Body: Hi everyone, I need some insight on a weird situation.

The Context: A while ago, one of my digital listings was removed due to an IP claim (classic competitor move, as the design was entirely my own original work). To stay safe, I deleted the listing immediately.

The "Mistake": I wanted to be a "good seller" and follow the rules, so I contacted Etsy Live Support. I asked them a very specific question: "I have a store on another platform (Gumroad) where I still host that removed item. If I add my general Gumroad link to my Etsy 'About' section, would that be a policy violation?"

Support’s Response: They basically gave me a formal warning, saying that promoting a storefront that hosts "flagged" content could lead to policy concerns and account risks. After hearing this, I did NOT add any links. I stayed away from it completely.

The Problem: Right after this chat, my sales literally fell off a cliff (see attached screenshot). I haven't changed my SEO, my prices, or my ads. It’s like my shop suddenly became invisible in search results.

My Question: Does Etsy "flag" or shadowban shops that ask "red-flag" questions to support? It feels like simply mentioning a removed item and an external link put me on a manual review/restricted list.

Has anyone experienced a sudden drop in traffic after a sensitive conversation with support? Or is this just a massive coincidence?

Under normal circumstances, I should have made at least $50–$60 in sales by now, but I’ve only made $9. Most of the orders usually came in while I was asleep, but when I woke up, I hadn’t received a single order.
