A1/A2 Carry Handle Rail options for optics

Original Post: Looking to get an optic for my '65 Colt SP1. Pretty much all the optics I've found are designed to mount to 1913 Pic Rail. Monstrum makes a Pic rail adapter, but at 10 bucks Im a little worried about the quality for that price. My other option is IMI, but the 110 dollar price tag aside, I'd rather not support them currently. Kensight makes an adapter as well for about 50 dollars, but its for Weaver instead of Picatinny. Does anyone know if there's an adapter for Weaver to Picatinny or should I just take the gamble on Monstrum?

Looking for non-fiction recommendations.

I recently acquired a 1965 Colt SP1. This led me down a train of thinking towards setting up a reenactment uniform for shooting competitions in memory of my late uncle who volunteered with the US Air Force during Vietnam. However I also realized that I know very little about the conflict itself besides the basics that were covered in school. I remember the Civil War reenactors I met with as a kid were usually well informed and able to answer questions about the conflict and proved sources for their information. I figure that if I'm going to be going around in a replica of a uniform in memory of a soldier who fought during the war, the least I could do is educate myself so I can try and provide the same service I was given as a child.

To that end I'm looking for books to better educate myself on the conflict in Vietnam in general, as well as any resources on what life was like for minorities in the military and at home during the time, especially Japanese Americans as my uncle was Nisei. Thanks in advance for the help!

1965 Colt SP1 - Need Manual

Won a Colt SP1 recently and just got it in today. Sadly it didn't come with an owner's manual. I checked on Colt's Website, but unfortunately all their available manuals are from the 90's and are for later models with the forward assist. Does anyone know where I can find an owner's manual for my model. PDF would be preferred, but if I can find a decent deal on a physical manual that would be fine.
